For some reason I find myself having to come here and make threads a bit more often, which probably means something?
As you can guess from the title, this is a pretty generalized question but how do you get shotguns to reload in halo? I understand that there are three animations (which have to be named first-person enter / first-person exit-empty / first-person exit-full , respectively), but for whatever reason CE absolutely despises me. To clarify, whenever I try to get the shotgun to reload, it will either play the shell loading animation once (this happens only when the magazine is completely empty) or not play the animations at all. The gun reloads fine, but I don't quite understand why the animations wont play. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Just a suggestion, why not try going old school and have an infinite shotgun clip? Kinda like Doom. Edited by HyperLuke on Aug 9, 2016 at 06:53 PM

That's obviously not what he wants. Both of you should try to be more helpful or not post at all.
He's already tried setting the weapon type to shotgun. All I can suggest is making 100% sure the names are correct and the animations are the correct type. Check the reload times and rounds reloaded.

I think there's a "chamber each round" or some flag located in the weapon file. Would this perhaps do the trick for you?

I gave a suggestion :v Can the Halo Community at least try to be respectful of peoples suggestions? He wanted an idea, I gave him one, it would probably solve the problem, since there is only one animation. Edited by HyperLuke on Aug 9, 2016 at 08:14 PM

You can make working shotguns in halo CE its not impossible. However it is infuriating that I cannot seem to get the reload animations to work, even though the weapon reloads perfectly fine. Edit: I just messed with the tag some and just used the regular shotgun and did a model swap. Now it'll run the animations and loop them fine, but if you only reload one shell, it skips the actual looping animation and instead plays the ending animation. Sidelining that, when there's 2 shells left to be filled, the animation stops completely. Edited by R93_Sniper on Aug 9, 2016 at 09:48 PM

Having this problem too with my H2 shotgun, I tried to make everything exactly the same as the CE shotgun in terms of the model animations tag, I wonder if it has to do with the animations themselves.

I loaded up the animations with that old animation importer from bluestreak and found out that the enter animation actually loads the first shell along with bringing the gun up. Not entirely sure why it was done that way, but that's just the way it is I guess.

Make sure your weapon type is shotgun in the tags too, or the reload exit full animation may be skipped
