Who ever told you to use gmax if possible punch them in the fugging face then kurb stomp there nuts, then roast them on a fire and feed them to a raccoon.

3DS Max won't do you much good unless you're a student or can afford it.
You wouldn't pirate 3DS Max now, would you Flanker?

Pffff me? No! Heh what gave you that idea?

@Grunter: I'm sorry to dissapoint you but I highly doubt that any descent scripter will get off there skinny/fat arse and code out and gbx model importer for blender just because one person is in need of it.

Download max > use the compatible gbx model importer by (the ghost) > export what ever you imported into max as an .obj then import your stuff into blender using the .obj import setting.

If your not willing to go the whole hog and install max I understand your reasons but it is necessary since I can guarantee if you want to import a model you are going to want to export it at some stage or another which is where max's export support outweighs the now outdate chimp xporter for gmax.

Depending on the amount of what you wish to import I maybe inclined to import and convert some gear box models into a acceptable format for blender.
