Opinions on Halo Online are not gonna change how the tagset goes. If you hate halo online and never want to see it, that's your problem.

For my part, I like the decision of using Halo Online weapons, they look great and the fact that we'll be able to chose the attachments and colors is even better.I think this map looks cool and I'm looking forward to see more videos and play it...

Just for clarification, the customization stuff I mentioned is exclusively for the tagset, its how the tagset works, it won't be applied ingame.

I see, it seemed a little too big to achieve that ingame but it's still cool if you guys use Halo Online weapons.

Couldn't it be done with some scripting tho? I know that would require you to store all the weapons in the map file and as a result it may be too big but not if they're chosen before loading the map and then load the map with only the required files from another file like it's done in SPv3 would it be possible then?

I'm just elaborating some theory here, I'm not asking you to do it (I prefer to say it to prevent any kind of nonconstructive comments).

that would take too much tag space from the map but it is still possible with scripts huhuehue

We tried to make a weapon customization prototype a long time ago but it never worked out.

Actually, if you just used transparent scrolling animations like the human/elite FP arms in Revolution, you could just "mask" the parts you don't need at the time, and then uncover them without needing a new model for each one. (in theory)

We tried weapon customization through permutation changing, but it didn't update the fp model.

So maybe anyone reading this who works on OS maybe can make an OS command that changes fp model permutations too? :D

Yeah model permutations don't work in do. I can't see why you couldn't do weapon customizing through scripting.... Tag space shouldn't be an issue since it is single player and bitmap data can be loaded on the fly. I love the weapon customization in h:o, I think it's pretty cool

I also vote for the Plasma Caster. I guess it's super easy to do, it's just a blue Concussion Rifle with a different stock, grip and magazine. Just be sure to add the overcharged function shown at the E3 gameplay. Also, I give my cookies to who decided to make the Halo Reach Fuel Rod Gun purple instead of golden... that was a brilliant idea

I made it purple for rev a long time ago, but all the feedback was that it looked silly, so back to gold it went lol

Since I read it as usually... Yeah.... I can't help do this for another year... Still working on same main project. Besides that, last time I checked OS is still under GNU General Public License therefore required modified OS to be open source like kornman00 want it to be. I can't use any of single source code from OS in close source program (will be open source later on).

Everyone seems ok with it except nick, who doesn't really think it fits and wants to use the CMT BR.

I absolutely don't want to use the CMT BR. And i have no other options. what do you guys think? does it fit? anims aren't staying.

no, i hate it by all our other tags. i might aswell scrap my entire tagset and use cmt. the design looks like it was made out of legos.

I would love something like this but I don't know any modellers who can do it.

Well, the CMT TSCE BR looks more fitting aesthetically with the rest of that current tagset then Mike's BR in my opinion. You guys should just go all custom if Mike's BR is going to be used.

Problem is, your current BR looks nothing like this.
I don't even think it fits with the other weapons in the tagset (that you have let us seen).
If I were you, I'd go with the CMT BR.
If you could get the BR to detail itself to be like in the concept art, I'd say use yours.
But as it is... It's a CMT BR vote from me.

I'm not using any tags from my previous team in this map (also the h4 BR isn't really what we want atm) and as for the CMT BR, we are looking into some other options atm. Hopefully the CMT BR will be placeholder and nothing more, as I stated previously I really don't want to get lazy with the tagset. The BR55 will stay in the tagset so that if anyone wants it on release they can have it.

The BR55? that pic is a little outdated but the overall design is the same.

There will be both DMR and BR in mod.

in all honesty, the DMR from bigass looked just as bad shader-wise. the color scheme and reflections look virtually the same. this just seems to be a lot less complex and lowpoly

Sean, I gotta say, I'm not a big fan of this modified h2 battle rifle thing you and Mike've got going on. But I completely agree that using the CMT TSC:E battle rifle is much worse of an idea. I'm not a very big fan of it either by any stretch of the imagination.

Hello folks, im gunna give you a small update. Re-made the base interior. Enjoy!













Tagset is coming along VERY nicely as well, you can thank Dumb AI, Sean, Spiral, Mike for that. Xander is also going to be designing the new HUD for the project as well! :D
