You obviously don't know anything about how any of the projects work. Being though the source is available on github and you still pull stuff out of your ass amazes me. I haven't used this account in years, but this entire thread is so stupid I couldn't resist.

You can download the game using 4game's download links and client which are made available on their website publicly... This has been known, and is how I acquired my copy. In the case of the Alpha, it was also public for quite awhile even after they "removed" it from the internet on their servers.

ProphetOfTruth has things correct otherwise.

And some background that most don't know, under Dark/E3pO's "leadership" the servers, services, and obviously the product of ElDorito was very half assed. The server has now been defaced because of lies that he told the rest of "the past team". So from this point forward we aren't considering him to be a part of any of the "new development team". We have many things planned but we still need to shake the entire image of the "past team" because most of them have been booted anyway, only the few people who actually know what the hell they are talking about are still around, and working very hard on various things that will come together as a huge "thing" for the Halo community in general.

To all the haters saying Halo Online modding will never reach what Halo CE modding was, they are obviously the ones who are the user's of the tools and never even looked at a hex editor before and they should be ignored. That mentality is what got the Halo community in such a (adult word for crappy) state that it is currently. The people haven't changed in the 10 years that I have been doing Halo modding and probably wont. Just because you go to work, get a paycheck and come home doesn't make you an adult. It just makes you a big ol' baby...

With that being said, eventually tools will emerge that will directly compete with the tools designed for Blam, and even surpass it. (It would be really funny if the new tools were better than stock)

kiwidog out.

I have been following on Halo Online Reddit, you guys doing perfect job for Halo Online. And it blows my mind that you guys are creating a tag editor from ground up. This is neat. Please do come back and update us for more news.
Once I come back from work I'll keep my eyes on this thread and exactly see where your project will lead to. I would love to contribute with your projects but the main issue is I work at 9 to 8 as sales advisor. So really I am not always around much often but I'll try to keep on track on your project. Good work devs!

There are two major issues with Halo Online.
ONE:It is ugly as all hell, why did this have to look like Halo 4. :c

TWO:Lack of offical modding tools, the fan made ones will never be as good as the ones made by the people who are professonals, and the ones getting PAID to make it.

You missed Altherose, sshers, myself, and half the other people on this website if not most. Actually, there's like 5 people who don't belong on this list. 6 depending on how you look at Dennis.

Or maybe I'm using the forum completely wrong?

That's the idea, we're having different people focus on the separate part of editor functionality, then it's going to be untied into a single editor type of thing, kind of like "Prometheus" was supposed to be.

It will be aswome if this new tag editor allow us to play ingame just to test something out.

I rememberd i watched bungie videos of halo 3 making with tag editor and had this new feature where u can simply go ingame. I am not sure if they actually have that but it would be good for HO. I wouldn't mind if you made the tag editor interface more like halo ce because believe or not even halo 3 tag editor had a 100% same interface like ce but amazin features or u guys can make your own interface alot professional than that..

This wat something halo 2 vistor and halo ce never really have.

Something basic perhaps and not really fustrating........ yeh sometimes hammer editor is pain in the bum when it cumes to controling or perhaps really they should aim for halo ce sapien interface and make the navigation controls different.

Though hammer editor does hav like wat 3ds max have like scaling, adding box, sphere, and many other cool features.

Really looking forward for the single tag editor all in one.

Hammer is a great editor. Especially in its prime from 2004-2010. However when games like portal 2 arrived, it got pretty difficult to use. Not because it's bad, but because newer games have so many models/details that it just turns into a clusterf u ck.

Having experience with hammer since 2004, a lot of things are pretty great. Brushes being one of the main thing. If we had such a feature in Halo it would allow map testing/ideas to be a lot easier.

The scripting features are also, in my opinion, are one of the best ways I've ever seen scripting implemented into an engine.

Sure, it's hard to get used too, but once you know what it's all about it's a pretty fun experience working with source.
