Any fix for the 998 error? It's pretty much the same, except I'm running Windows 7 x64.

Well that's Altheros for ya, he has always been that kid who just wants to kiss ass and gets angry when things doesn't go his way.

Can't wait for all this to be sorted out so I can install OS in order to play 2 maps.

This is what I've been trying to do but I can't figure out how? On the installer, it just gives me "play" and "uninstall" options.

You should be able to just make a copy of the folder and create your own shortcuts for the new copy.

When I attempt to run Halo with HAC 2 and OS 4.0.0. I get the series of errors starting with "Failed to locate gametype icon", then this just once, "Unable to load HAC 2. Error code: 1114."

I don't have Xfire installed at all.

Those issues are the ones I'm having, Btcc said it was because Windows 8.1.

Any news for the windows 8 + OS crash?

I wonder if Windows 10 Preview users are affected by this.

Well on Windows 10 Halo PC and CE will only run with the latest patch installed. Aside from that HAC2 works fine by itself on Halo PC and CE.

Open Sauce works fine by itself on Halo CE

However put them both together on CE on Windows 10, it just throws 4 errors.
Cannot calculate map sum
Cannot load HAC error 1113
Cannot load HAC error 1114
Cannot load icon for gametype

with the uploaded hac.dll file in the Original post it just CTD's (Crashes to desktop)

Using the about command shows hac version is 2.2.0.7a (04/03/15)

Anyone actually get this to work? Without hac.dll it says Error 1114, map caching failed, and with it my game just crashes to the desktop.

Did you guys do any other steps to get HAC and OS to play nicely?
