In the actual portent thread development has all but stopped. Looks like everyone pretty much moved on. They said it may continue sporadically, but it looks doubtful. Apparently it's mainly due to the amount of BSP work that is yet to be done :/

Question who submitted my beta? {ss}creek_rb003 and snowcreek? because I don't remember doing it.

Unless I was drunk on skittles.

I think the pool of interesting projects would go up significantly if you allow other engines, though of course that wouldn't make it halo CE exclusive anymore.

That said, currently there aren't much remaining projects that are still in development which are still interesting. All that comes to my mind is KillaFTW's SP, which we haven't heard of in awhile unfortunately. Oh and ofc those Project Lawson things.

People say this every year, but then CE3 actually comes around and proves them all wrong.

We currently have a good enough pool for a show about ~45 minutes long from those who we know want to submit stuff. Roughly the same as every year around this time. The remainder all comes from people who I don't know about. Those things are surprises to me too and I usually have the same concern each year.

If you want a preview before the show (like this), then message me with a small few clips of your project before June 12th. Even if you don't have clips yet, I need to know by then so Bryan Cox can do his lines in time.

Would you mind consulting me if something like that happens again.

The only thing I have ever submitted to ce3 was the fire fx thing from 2014. I don't submit bsp's and especially not betas. (rb_003 = release beta number 3)

If that half is still presentable (like it can run in-engine, but not everything's implemented yet or you still have shader isssues) and you're comfortable with showing it off, we wouldn't mind that either?

Ehhh. If it's no offense to you (or the teamI'll have to decline.

I just don't approve of half made maps unless it's sort for preview purposes, which is sort of what CE3 is in a nut shell right? But still.....half made maps aren't fun at all......and then I'll probably half to contend with "release date?" requests too.

Oh no, of course it's fine! If you know you don't feel ready to make things public, there's nothing wrong with waiting until you get there. (and sorry, I thought you meant like you were being indecisive about whether or not to present)

I just meant that we accept (and I, for one, appreciate) works in progress. Yes you're right, at the end of the day, CE3 is here for you to show off a preview of what you've been up to. Previews are great, and half-made maps are just that half-assed, yeah, but where you draw the line is up to you. What you have might not exactly be the final product, yeah, but does it work? Does it have the nuts and bolts in to outline what you want to do? Does it get across the big picture of your goal? Remember, you can present trailers and things, but you don't have to release anything for download, and (if you would like to) you can use your interview to your advantage.

I understand and really respect how you want to make your preview into something with a lot of quality -I just wanted to remind you that the presentation isn't really black or white. You can control how much (or how little) to reveal in your presentations... do you want to have just an interview? Just a trailer? A little bit of a trailer and a lot of talking? A lot of videos and barely any talking? This is just my two cents, but I feel like the ball is in your call and you have all the right in the world to call the shots

PS: humor and sarcasm are great ways to avoid answering things :3

I feel a bit of it can apply to CE3. Interesting read.

Hay matthewdratt i understand CE3 is only for halo ce exclusive but not contingency, glassed and many others halo fans projects but what about halo online? which was published by microsoft like halo ce. You realize how big CE3 events could have been? Forget contingency and other fake fans projects, dont forget halo online was made by proper companies...

Halo online is running halo 3 engine and once the eldorito devs finished up their tag editor I would like to see HO at CE3 events in couple of years. Thanks.

Halo Online isn't going to be in CE3. Get over it. The game is illegal, you need a stupid vpn to play on it, and all the mods right now are "OMG LOOK I SPAWNED A GUN"
