*Returning to the topic at hand*

Unfortunately GEMFX/SweetFX isn't compatible when you have both HAC2 and OS installed.

It works with each one without the other and OS and HAC2 work together.

Anyone confirm this?

SweetFX worked fine with OS an HAC2 for me. Haven't tried GEMFX yet.

I'm not sure about SweetFX by itself. I was referring to the newest GEMFX as it contains SweetFX.

It works with HAC2 and it works with OS but with OS and HAC2 in the same room it does not.

Not sure what GEMFX is breaking to cause this. I tried disabling all effects to see if I could figure out what it was but seems to not be an effect.

Try it. If it doesn't work, remove the dll.

How did you made that? I used to put a ENB in Halo CE to make it works with OS+Hac 2, but it doesn't work.
But now I have GEMFX and SweetFX, I think it's enough.

This is the future. It unifies all post-processing under a common somethingorother. It includes GemFX.

How to use it?

Yeah, I used it but caused an exception when I open Halo CE.

I'm not too sure how to use it. I understand that they said it does not come with any effects, so how would I go about it? Although it does enable me to be able to use sweetfx on Halo 2 so that's a plus.
Anyone know how to get GEMFX to work with this?

If you all read what it says there, you will find the answers.

With ReShade you can have very nice shaders (shaders that actually use depth information) like: DOF and SSAO plus tons more.

I really like this DOF, for example

And this SSAO, anamorphic flares, etc.

y do we always use bigass for dis

The only thing I don't like is that it's very performance heavy... but that's something that one should expect.

I don't see how. It's the standard DOF and is almost unnoticeable unless you look directly at close objects in an open area or very close objects in a closed area. Without the use of a devcam you can easily forget there's DOF.

Yes. I usually play Halo at max settings with several SweetFX effects enabled, such as SMAA, bloom, god-rays (the fake ones), etc. and the FPS will never drop below 60. But when I use just SSAO with ReShade and nothing else, the FPS start dropping to ~50 and ~30 if I enable bloom, lens flares, dirt lens, DOF, and other effects.

Here, I use servimg because I have an account and 434 images on it.

New GPU, R9 285.
I get texture flickering on OS enabled maps now though. Not sure why. I'm hoping it's fixed in the next release as I couldn't find any information on it.

I used Magic DOF setting. Doesn't seem to have an autofocus setting for this DOF. That's too bad because it looks nice and isn't as hardware depended.

This happened to be where I was the last time I played so sorry there's no images of the outside.

Settings used in the screenies:
#define USE_RAYMARCH_AO 1
#define USE_MAGIC_DOF 1
#define USE_CURVES 1
#define USE_SPHERICALTONEMAP 1

The only setting I changed from their defaults was spherical tonemapping. (I believe I did, I can't remember to be honest)

//SPHERICAL TONEMAP
#define sphericalAmount 0.6

Hmmmm. Gamma is all over the place and the bloom is too high.

But if you like it then, awesum.

I went back to the old version of GEMFX/SweetFX with god rays for DX9. Looks good on most maps and it's not performance heavy at all.

Bloom is completely off both in the OS settings and in Reshade lmao.

Gamma looks fine to me. As I said multiple times, the look will depend on your own monitor. I like a lot of contrast between darkness and lightness.

[EDIT]
Mostly fixed the texture flickering by enabling vsync. turned out it had something to do with Halo not OS. It was mostly happening in OS enabled maps do to the higher GPU load from what I can tell.
[EDIT]
Completely fixed the texture/artifacts by adding my card to CE's Config.
