An Electromagnetic field that repels bullets, grenades, vehicles and spartans. Lasts 5 Seconds, takes 30 to re-charge.

That sounds like it'd just do the same thing that regular armor lock does.

Yeah I'm kind of confused as to what differentiates them.

What's an armourlock? A padlock so nobody takes your armour while you're showering?

Perhaps instead of armourlock we could implement an "armourwave" ability which deflects energy like laser to glass.

This is what i meant. It sends out a wave which deflects metal objects only.

The standard way of doing this is animating a transparent geosphere, but I don't know how to animate something so that it expands -- I've tried doing it in the past and I had to resort to separate pieces of geometry moving in different directions instead, like an expanding hula hoop. You would make it expand quickly enough to cause a sudden push against collidable objects.

The second way is to just use a jpt! tag with force and an area of effect along with destructible collision models for the map's projectiles. This would also let you shoot rockets to make them explode. A few years ago, I mentioned such an idea at MacGamingMods, and TaxiService made a rocket projectile that would explode when shot with a sniper, for example.

The main tag would be .effect.
