Tried placing the cmt playable elite_v2 biped into the tutorial map to tinker with it, and it placed fine in Sapien. However when I try to compile the map to get it in-game, I end up with this error in the debug.txt:

11.13.14 11:03:28 EAX: 0x00000000
11.13.14 11:03:28 EBX: 0x000C0000
11.13.14 11:03:28 ECX: 0x000297C6
11.13.14 11:03:28 EDX: 0x00198F88
11.13.14 11:03:28 EDI: 0x1BC78000
11.13.14 11:03:28 ESI: 0x1BB84F90
11.13.14 11:03:28 EBP: 0x00074E94
11.13.14 11:03:28 ESP: 0x0018A038
11.13.14 11:03:28 EIP: 0x00436131, F3 AB 8B CA ?????
11.13.14 11:03:28 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

I've narrowed it down to the .gbxmodel, if I dereference that from the biped tag, everything compiles just fine. Any ideas on what inside that may be going wrong? I copied everything straight out of the release pack, so I doubt it's corrupted, and I overwrote all necessary tags, so no old remnants are sticking around and it's not referencing anything but the new material from the release.

i have never actually had experience with this problem, but i know that you are being denied access to your tags.

If tool crashes with that error during the "streaming model vertex and index buffers" operation, you are almost certainly overrunning the maximum amount of model data permitted in a map. It has nothing to do with file access permission (the "access violation" refers to the result of the overrun). If you remove enough model data from the map you're trying to build, that error condition should go away.

You are correct, I ended up putting the bipeds alone into a different map and it worked fine. I was putting them into my testing tutorial variant which has an absolute abundance of crap. Cleared some out, error is gone, everyone's happy.

Great work on the elite, too!
