Back on topic, that all looked like they took some Dewed-up, hyperactive 13-year-old fan's wish list of 'things that should be in a new Halo game' and implemented it verbatim.

"JETPACKS!" Check.
"GROUND-POUNDING!" Check.
"ANIME-DASHES!" Check.
"SCOPES ON EVERYTHING!" Check.
"Uh... umm... MANTLING!" Check.
"YOU CAN RUN EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME!" Check.
"AND YOU CAN DO PARKOUR!" Ehh, you might have to wait until Halo 6 for that one, Timmy.

I don't see a problem with those because everyone can do them and they're balanced enough from the gameplay footage we've seen to not be too OP.
To address sprinting specifically, I really like how your shields don't come back when you run. This makes it more of a retreating tactic now and less of a map control one, which I feel sprinting kind of ruined in Halo 4.

I'd also like to point out that the pistol has 12 rounds again.

I haven't been able to see any footage, can someone put up some screenshots of some weapons in fp view? Also were there any covenant or promethean weapons?

There's tons of footage on YouTube. And no Covenant/Promethean weapons have been showed yet.

What are your thoughts on the Ruby/Sapphire remakes? I don't have a 3ds but its something that makes me want to go get one for Nostalgia purposes, but I haven't played a Pokemon game since I finished the original Ruby :(

I was not excited for their announcement because I actually saw the Ruby and Sapphire remakes coming from miles away back when Pokemon Black and White and the 3DS were released in North America. The remake actually destroyed any sense of difficulty as shown in these screenshots.

If I were you, I would wait for the *New* Nintendo 3DS line to come out next year since it has better specs than the original 3DS line (My friend felt cheated after buying Smash Bros 3DS XL once he heard of the *New* 3DS models), OR/AS is worth a rent at best judging from what I played in the demo. If you really want a good 3DS game for this month. Get Shin Megami Tensei: Persona Q. Sure it's 10 dollars more than Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, but you'll get more fun out of it. Also, Pokemon X/Y will NOT get patched to get the new Mega Evolutions.

tl;dr version: Game Freak ruined Generation III

Now that I've seen some footage I can say that this all looks really cool. (I hate that dmr model though) too bad people will be too busy being butthurt and scratching their ass. The point of the beta is to fix and remove issues and people are treating this like the final game. Its a shame really. Also, I'm about to pick up my copy of MCC now! Once the beta hits I will share my thoughts.

Interesting, it illustrates this guy's post very well:

Yup, sounds about right.

Not liking what we see, realising how far away from its roots Halo has strayed and pointing this out, is very different from complaining just to complain. In fact, it is people like you who are the actual butthurt ones. Butthurt because not everyone is praising your little 13-year-old dewed-up videogame.

I didn't say I loved what I saw. There's obviously a lot I don't like, but instead of telling 343 what to fix you guys (most of you, not everyone) are already treating it like the final. Didn't mean to sound like a fanboy :|

No armor abilities.
Slayer counts kills, not points.
Aim down sights is nearly just a scope.
Weapon pickup seems common. Loadouts gone?

Looks pretty fun

Did it not die by Halo: Reach?

http://kotaku.com/halo-5-s-multiplayer-is-all-about-movement-1656831217

"But in Halo 5's arena, every Spartan starts off on a level playing field, with six standardized forms of movement that everyone has access to from the start of each round."

"Every weapon—including those without scopes—has a "smart scope" aiming system. If you're shot while attempting to zoom in through your sights, you'll get knocked out of smart scope."

"343 Industries previously announced that the loadouts from Halo 4 have been done away with as players will start equally.

What have they done to the sword?
They've absolutely butchered it. Do not approve.

Is it even Halo now? Sure it's good that they're looking at new types of gameplay.
But as of now it literally looks like Advanced Warfare just with a Halo theme.

All Halo is Good 'Nuf Said

In all seriousness, the sword and dmr are one of my complaints, the overall pace and some features too. The thruster pack makes it too much like aw and it feels like your gonna end up flying everywhere more then actually running around the map. and mantling isn't necessary. Sprint wouldn't be ideal either but I guess now that it is a big part of reach and 4 they have no choice but to keep it so ok. ADS on ALL guns bothers me a little bit too. I'm hoping that they hopefully will have a classic playlist

Everyone is saying how Halo 5 is gonna ruin halo forever. Not like Halo 4 or Reach did that already, but hey, let's judge a game that you haven't even played.

It's a gradual process.
Halo stopped being Halo during Halo 4, but this had been an ongoing process since Reach.
Now more and more people are realising, with every new stupid armor ability (eg ground pound, thruster pack stuff), how far from Halo this now all is.

I actually think these new abilities make a reasonable amount of sense. We know Spartans are walking tanks, but we never actually get to utilize that strength aside from pistol whipping and flipping stuff over. Granted, it may be a bit of a stretch from the core elements of Halo, but at least it's not as crazy and out there as some of the other things that have been introduced.

Just to clear things up if they haven't been cleared up already.

1. Sprinting doesn't make it like CoD, Mario has been sprinting for 30 years but people don't complain about that. Btw, Rainbow Six had loadouts before CoD. Star Wars Battlefront 2 had killstreaks before CoD. Operation Flashpoint had ADS before CoD. Stop crying.

2. The ADS functions exactly like the scope zoom from previous Halo games, only with a different visual presentation. That's it. It will only be on weapons that had a scope in previous Halo games.

3. Halo Reach had evade and Halo 4's Thruster Pack took evade and enabled it to be used in midair, so don't say that 343 is stealing from CoD. Infact, Unreal Tournament which was released ages ago has a dash (though you have to double tap the direction you want to dash). Climbing over ledges was also in Mirror's Edge and Titanfall. Added mobility (especially ledge climbing) will be the next big gimmick that will plague FPS games this gen.

Let's talk about Shin Megami Tensei. So guys, who is your favorite SMT protagonist? Mine is Aleph because he basically commits deicide. ;)

Minato.

Here's something funny about H2A, are you ready? Here goes nothing, It uses code from Halo 2 Vista, yes that version of Halo 2, the one that is regarded as the worst console to PC port of all time. That is why H2A had trouble running at 1920x1080 in 60FPS so it had to be scale down to 1328×1080. I wish I was kidding.

Not true with the last part, all weapons are getting zoom functions look at the assault rifle for example. Link: http://youtu.be/3Jd8lK-EKe0?t=35s

Still, it's not the fact that all weapons are getting a zoom that's bothering people, it's the visual presentation of the zoom.

I actually like a lot the new zoom visual of the AR, looks something that I rarely saw in other games. Instead of the Iron Sight, they could use that visual mode with all the other weapons (Snipers excluded) and get something unique and less Destiny-ish.
Also, they said that the Energy Sword shown is a different sword type called "Prophet's Bane", specific for that map, so we'll probably see the classic blue sword too.
Anyway, everything seems a lot better than I thought. My biggest complaint are those annoying "beep" sounds when you hit/kill someone, and the Iron Sight (not because it's like CoD, I know that it's just the same old zoom mode with just a different animation, but because, as I wrote above, it's something we already saw in tons of games, and they could instead use the AR zoom mode, as I suggested). I'll keep those tips when the beta starts, though (I need to know how to contact them, btw)

If you get shot you will be knocked out of it, so its kinda like the 1x zoom that the AR had in at least Halo 3 (I forget about the other halos) except you can fire from it.

We also see guns in tons of games. Iron sights go hand in hand with guns and have done so for hundreds of years, which is why I don't see why people can perceive such a basic element of warfare to be "overdone" any more than automatic weapons or tanks.

If you don't think weapons in Halo should be able to fire while zoomed unless they have actual scopes, that's one thing, but disliking one version of ADS because it's not a different, functionally identical version of ADS is another thing.

actually in a way it has a big affect on the way the game is played. it used to be that scoping in in halo was risky because it limited your view angle. meaning someone could pick you off from the side and you would never see them. now by using a red dot sight and having this aim down sights animation you suddenly have a much larger view angle allowing you to see that person who was about to kill you much more easily. which changes the pace of encounters.

i liked the old way much better, the scopes were linked to the HUD in the helmet it made perfect canonical sense.
