I01 has actually made something after all this time. We need everyone to vote before the deadline which is June 20 at 12 midnight. Anyways here are the choices (the background is a placeholder). The choices will be for ui style and color scheme.

I'm as shocked about the fact that you guys are still alive as well. The first choice for the UI with orange looks pretty good in my opinion.

This is for that game that was being made in unity. The leader can be easily spotted by looking for the posts where he is constantly trying to put unity and cry engine on the same levels.

As much as I laugh at Bean for his Unity love, we have completely replaced the rendering engine. Our technical artist actually helped a bit on a game called The Forest.

@Jesse, the plan is to replace the background with an actual rendered scene so it won't be static.

That's somewhat shocking to say the least. I'm assuming the team still wants to release something considering you showed this UI. Not having a real update from you guys has made things a bit concerning.
Edit: The Forest had some nice visuals in it. I'm assuming he is just art so we won't get a broken save feature on day one. No offense to the team but how does someone not notice that.

It's because we haven't had anything we are proud to show mainly due to only working on the game for less than a year an a few problems with people who joined and didn't contribute/went mia. We may still be in earlier stages, but we will have something to show for CE3.

That's very comforting to hear/read! It may not seem like it but I am very excited to see what the group can do. The thought of a game similar to Halo is very exciting.

Some general design tips:

In all 3 designs the body text is too large in relation to the boxes around it. In situations where text is surrounded by a boundary, the text needs room to 'breath' or in other words there must be an adequate amount of room in the box so the viewer can appreciate the text itself rather than focus too much on its relation with the box. This is seen most prominently in image 2 where the text is so large that the different options nearly intersect with one another. Another problem with the second design is that the menu text seems to all be aligned to the top left creating a large empty area at the bottom right. There is a similar problem in image 1 where the gap between box boundary and text is larger on the left than the right.

As for the colour, the options you've offered are all near primary colours which doesn't make them that interesting. I'd suggest experimenting with less contrasting colour elements and use colours that feature prominently in your mod so as to create a unified colour pallete.

I noticed that with mine a bit after I made the OP, if you have any other criticism we are happy to make changes since everything is wip and are liable to change.

Exactly what I was going to point out... the text spacing and color palette were bugging me, too. You beat me to the comments again, Koz xP

I'm abstaining from voting for now to see if/how y'all will change your designs.

For the record, I literally had no assignment for over 5 months so I said screw it. I was more freelance anyway(plus all of the notifications pissed me off) :p

This makes me wonder why Bean didn't mention those things in the I-01 "contracts".

This, but maybe use the 'Denmark' font. See how it looks, if it doesn't work just go back to what you have.

I went for sort of a "flat" UI design, but with the background + music it would be just fine.

A problem this shares with the rest of the designs seen in the thread is the placement of the elements.
The text is largely placed in the very outer edges of the frame and when you look at it your eyes have to travel from the center of the screen to the edge not once but twice to take in all the information.

It's always good practise to show a concept in the way it would appear if it were final. For instance since all your text is pure white, it would be practically unreadable if it were shown on a light background.

Something I'd like to ask is are you guys going to use a logo in a final version of the UI? As it stands now the title is pretty unremarkable in relation to the text options and the only thing that make it stand out somewhat is it's larger size.
