Hi, I recently installed 3dsmax 2014, hated the new slate material editor so I chose the old configuration in the material editor settings. But my textures don't show up correctly, if they even show up at all. Is there some setting I need to check? (show maps as hardware display?) If so what and where is it.

I have this problem in max 2011 a lot. The way i fix it is by going into the mtl editor, selecting your mtl and in the options portion check "show standard map in viewport". If it still doesn't show, try re-drag-and-dropping it onto your model, i find it's best to deselect the model first too. Hope this helped.

I don't know why, but sometimes max starts to give me wiered errors after a while of use, where restarting fixes everything :P. Stuff like the 3D tool for moving objects enlarging when zooming in and not effecting the movement of an object.

I do prefer max 2010.
