I got an issue with fog. I've set up exact portals to define areas within the map. I have a water$ plane in the map as seen in the picture. The water plane is a single plane just slightly larger than the pond. When I try to turn off the fog in the adjacent tunnel (where there is no water plane) sapien crashes. It also crashes when I try to turn off the fog in the pond area too. 05.28.14 18:19:07 sapien pc 01.00.00.0609 ---------------------------------------------- 05.28.14 18:19:07 reference function: _write_to_error_file 05.28.14 18:19:07 reference address: 401b13 05.28.14 18:19:07 Couldn't read map file './sapienbeta.map' 05.28.14 18:19:07 CreateDevice succeeded with refresh rate = 0 05.28.14 18:19:07 Sound card doesn't meet minimum hardware requirements. As far as I know, the only way to change fog is to switch bsps. I dont think there is a way to fix this. Not 100% sure though

It worked before :(
I re-organised my bitmaps and shaders for the map then updated all the tag references to those re-organised bitmaps and shaders. Did some modelling and now I have water fog across half of the map despite portalling many areas.
This is bad news.

+unused Reserved special material that has many uses and can be used in conjunction with the special shader symbols to define its use and behavior. For example, it can be used with the "$" Fog Plane Shader Symbol to make +unused$, which can be applied to faces to construct a fog plane that is used to define a volumetric fog region. http://hce.halomaps.org/hek/ Might be something

Ok, I've fixed this issue.
because you can see the fog of the cluster that you are in in adjacent clusters I had to remodel part of the bsp so you couldn't. It's all ok now :)
Thanks for the help!
