but to the best of my knowledge it's 100% legal in this situation.
Your knowledge must be limited then.

You do not have the rights to distribute the Disc Image as a stand alone product. Section 1 and section 3 of the End User License Agreement (EULA) covers both the limits of making a copy and backup, which does not include distribution, and how you may transfer the product to another user, which requires you include and I quote: " This transfer must include all of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT (including all component parts, the media and printed materials, any upgrades[...]".

It then goes on to say "Such transfer may not be by way of consignment or any other indirect transfer. " which is what you are doing. Making an indirect transfer via a disc image is specifically prohibited in the EULA.

I doubt you will be contacted or ordered to take it down but but just because you are not contacted does not make it "100% legal". You need to read the EULA more carefully.

Get your petty bickering out of my thread.

@Dennis: Oh dear, guess it's not 100% legal then.

The download will remain up, as this is a service for people who don't have their disc's or have somehow broken or damaged their discs in the decade of their existence. I 100% believe that this is beneficial to all that need it and detrimental to no one.

As long as this website doesn't get shut down by the FBI, for hosting links and services to illegal downloads.

I have no problem with it.

It's nice to have some torrent updates anyway, I know a lot of ppl it could help.

Well the .torrents are hosted in Canada, and the actual files are in Sweden... So good luck FBI?

They can track all they want, they can't do anything about it though since it's outside their jurisdiction. That and the box in Sweden basically means they will not disclose any information about what is on the box. So grats, they know there's a server in Sweden hosting some files, good luck finding out which box since all the hosts there will tell the FBI to screw off.

:)

You ever read that article about the guy from Calgary who got a subpoena from some court in the state's.
They wanted him to pay his own fare down to Texas or somewhere to stand trial for downloading copyrighted material.
It was funny.

Pretty fair justice.

But I don't think that would be the case for every illegal downloader/copyrighter out there. I'd look at his story as more of a warning to others.

This can happen, but it probably won't.

My point was that no, this cannot happen.
There is no obligation for the guy to stand trial for something that is not even illegal in the country in which he resides.Especially in another country which has no authority over him.
Laws are only laws after a judge enforces them. p2p file-sharing is not illegal in Canada, even copyrighted material.
Uploading a copyrighted file to the internet and sharing links on public forums is however, because a judge has already set president in previous cases.

Even if the scenario does arise.

I'm sure we can bribe the attending judge with some cmt SPV4 tags.

GIVE US THE TAGS!!!!!!!!

I've updated to a different tracker, this should be more stable (the other one seemed to be going offline randomly).

The old torrents will remain active for a few weeks at least. All download links now link to the new files, and if you'd like to update your current seeds you can do so by adding the following tracker:

Cheers,
Cortex

Freelancer, stop posting!

Just kidding, it's good to have these as p2p files. I registered on your forums too.

I don't trust applications shared via peer networking.
If you have a 1 Gbps port, how much bandwidth does that include?

I am planning to provide a download service on my own server that has enough bandwidth to throw around, backwards, forwards, upwards and downwards.

Your entire post smacks of so much ignorance I'm hesitant to help you and indirectly encourage such habits in the future. However, I will tell you this - the speed of a connection has nothing to do with bandwidth. One would have to get in contact with the hosting provider or ISP to ascertain what the limits are. And unless you're spending upwards of 100$ a month chances are those boundaries are a lot tighter than you seem to think they are.

Also, why would dloading from your domain be any safer than p2p?
