I'm having a problem starting Halo after Updating Windows 7 from Disk.
when i go to start Halo i get this Error Message.
A problem occurred initializing DirectDraw. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled, please run DXDIAG.

I ran DXDIAG, and it still didn't work.
I looked around for hours for solutions online and most told me to Enable hardware acceleration, but when i go to do that, my troubleshoot button is greyed out. I also went into the Halo.exe properties in the compatibility mode section abd tried every option.
how can i make Halo work ?

When I got that error, a restart usually does the tric.

Update DirectX and post your system specs, including your graphics card and drivers details. It can quite possibly be that you also need to update your graphics drivers.

I've updated DX and the Graphics cards..i had it working for a whole year, so there must have been something that was installed before that is no longer installed now. I did have some kind of Nvidia program although i don't have a Nvidia card. I don't remember what i did to get it working.

Not a laptop from 2008.

I have a laptop that was made back when Windows XP was the current OS. That's way before 2008.

Runs the game just fine.

i had some settings on it that allowed me to get it going that are no longer set.
