So, I just bought a copy of Halo, and downloaded CE. When I downloaded maps such as the Universal UI, and CMT SPV3 OS version, and I extracted them with winrar to my HCE maps folder, they don't work. Someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

What would you have your arbiter do?

did you also installed os? Cause cmt spv3 os version requires os. Also what error do you get when loading the map?

Yes, I did download OS. Running it as administrator did not fix the problem either!!

Okay but what error are you getting? Also how do you run the maps? Be sure to run the maps by activating console mode and use the "map_map map" command

I get WinRar diagnostic messages when I try to extract the .zip files to the Halo CE map folder. I tried to open spv3 a50.yelo with console already. Doesn't work.

Perhaps WinRAR is at fault here? I've used 7-Zip, a free, nifty alternative to software that supposedly expires in 40 days. You might consider using that (or some other extracting program) to try to unzip your downloads.

Alternatively, if you're using Windows you should be able to directly navigate into the zip folder. I do this more often, as I can then copy the map (while still zipped up) directly into my maps folder. I've encountered no issues with this before.

I tried with 7zip too, I get pretty much the same errors. Cannot open output file like 4 times.

Try downloading the file (map) again. Also read this http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?nid=330 .

Edit1: What browser are you using?

I uninstalled HCE on my current computer, and installed it on my other computer. 7zip and Winrar still didn't work. So I manually put the .map files into the map folder. It works, I guess.

Edit: Google Chrome

.map files are not to be opened with winrar or 7zip...............

only .zip/.7z/.rar files are to be opened with winrar or 7zip......

.map files are the actual map files that halo uses......
