i'd seen their concept for the robotic arm, and it featured his new assault rifle for size reference.

Here is how it goes : The assumption is that teens and pre-teens will never create anything that is worthy of recognition . That is why Halo ce doesn't get the attention some of you think it deserves. And some of you do deserve recognition for your work! But whining about it wont get you anywhere near recognition.

Also, be satisfied with the attention you get from the community. That alone should be enough.

And by "Teens" I am not saying that is what this community is made up of. I know it isn't and and that some of you are older.

We should or maybe Dennis should have a YouTube Channel for HaloMaps, you know for showing off User Created things from Maps to Weapons, Vehicles and so on, maybe then people would start to notice. I mean look at all the stuff we made that no ones but 1,000 and under downloads yet no one makes any servers of the maps to and plays on them.

Halo Ce 2004-08 people stopped playing Custom Maps.

This is something i'v been wanting and waiting for the longest time ever, we, REALLY gotta step this sites game up for Halo Fans sake.

Only thing i'v done or been trying to do was showoff Past maps people made and working my way up to the latest maps today, but that's gonna take sometime for me to do all maps @.@

If you YouTube Halo Ce now all you see is Spanish videos, hell happen to all the other ones I use to look at.

I would like to add that after the launch of Halo Reach, the number of Halo fans have diminished. When Halo 4 came out, it gained a lot of new and returning fans, but many were left either amazed or disappointed (more people don't like halo 4 than those who do). The point is that there aren't as many "big" halo youtubers which means that it is a bit harder to get a project spread across the halo community. Also the Spanish videos don't really get Halo CE any good credibility or exposure. SBB and Ce3 are a step in the right direction for the Halo CE community to get more exposure IMO. Also if the community completely switch to a new engine, that could possibly help (even though I think we should push HEK to its limit before we switch).

True; at the end of the day, we're really just doing it for fun... (though I think it depends on the person >.<)

I agree -Storm and Blackbird and CE3 (it's one of the reasons I decided to jump on board with them) are definitely a good step towards trying to publicize CE, but I think the silver bullet we really need is the community coming together and promoting under one, single flag. And I honestly think Halomaps is the best brand to pull this off.

This part is specifically for Dennis, but I want to make it public.
I understand that you want to stay as a passive moderator and website owner and provide for the site's needs, rather than to jump head-first into HCE activism. But I think the reality is that, whether you'd like to or not, you've become the de facto leader of the Custom Edition community. By just giving us the shelter (this website) to come together and keep things alive and productive in the game (constant new projects), you've become the unofficial landlord of Halo CE. It's why some trolls target you, or they think you're Bungie -since, with what you've provided us, you might as well be a Bungie employee.
I completely get it if you want to keep your neutrality/distance, but I just wanted to reiterate for the records that if anyone is in a credible and capable position to pull this off and make a difference, it's probably you. After all, most of us wouldn't be here if you weren't here.

Either way, what I seriously wish we have (and, as a member of CE3, I wish we can accomplish) is to prove that we're not those immature teens that are just flocking around a dead Halo game.
Sure, we may have those... immature tendencies, yeah. But I think we're just as relevant to the Halo world as those Forge artists or Grifball players or whatever, and we should do everything we can to say that we are just as relevant to creating the Halo world as they are.

Again, at the end of the day, we're just here to have fun. But is it a crime to try inviting more people to enjoy this game with us?

If only I had more time on my hands.... I'd actually love to do a "HCE Navigator" kinda YouTube miniseries too, but I don't have enough free time to do it, sadly TT.TT

I heard you had worked on Galaxy of Combat with a not so swell leaving, wouldn't it be kinda weird to be friends with him? Also, the website said they are going through tons of applications, so maybe that's why, I am just speculating of course but that would seem a bit logical.

I applied a month ago for starters.

I have checked up on the owner's status of GoC, offering any sort of help (which is why we are FB friends)

And if they are going to start on a clean slate (which is what it seems like they are doing) then they should act a little more professional and respectfully explain why the person is denied instead of ignoring the apps.

Just my advice.

200+ apps, some reapply.
from what I've heard a few of the GoC team migrated to us after their falling out.

You know it doesn't work like that in real life, right? If they don't see you as qualified they aren't required to reply. Would it be nice of them to do? Yes. Do they have to and is that unprofessional? No, actually most employers don't reply to people who they aren't considering. However though, maybe something went wrong in their system and didn't receive your application or their response to you didn't send.

In no way is my reply to you, "defensive." I am merely stating facts. I have many times never received a response from an employer that I was not qualified for or not "what they were searching for." Also, no I do not work for them or any Halo projects. I am working on my own IP, so lets just stop the war you are starting to incite before it gets out of hand.

Two things I have to say though. First, if they don't reply to you, its no reason to start getting angry and bashing on them. Second, don't take it personally because it happens to everyone a decent amount of times in life. Its not a huge deal, you (this applies to everyone) can always improve and re-apply at a later date or if the position you applied for turns out to be filled (which could very so be the reason) just wait for an update about opened positions then apply again at that time.

Well saying they are unprofessional and disrespectful because they may not have accepted you, is a bit angry, is it not? When in reality that's what employers do. I am unbiased here, I am level headed right now, which in other words I don't care what anyone really thinks because I am not involved at all, I am open minded. Which it appears some of you guys aren't so much.

Jumping on the mild discontent train.
I feel like everyone is praising the project simply because it is a modern Halo game for PC. Reading through halo5follower's youtube comments, the audience claims it will be better than Halo 4, and are telling 343 to 'take notes.' All of this is based off of a single trailer which shows absolutely no gameplay and (from the looks of it,) appears to be using a handful of stock assets and does not have that unique Halo style.
I'm disappointed with the modern halo community. The guys at 343 spent over three years working on Halo 4 trying to make the game absolutely spectacular and everyone trashes the company like a new step mother. This project sure looks like something worth keeping up with but we got ONE trailer, and everyone and their mother on youtube gets so damned excited about it.
I'm plenty supportive but I will wait until further updates are released.

Its not Project Contingency dividing the community, its the community itself. Its people who didn't like Halo 4 saying this Project will be better. The team working on Project Contingency has said they aren't trying to compete with 343i and that they do love 343i and Microsoft. So the team isn't pathetic; it must be, from your perspective, the community itself.
