Hay guy’s I am truly pumped up at the moment for the reason that 21 July I have MAC desktop coming shortly on its way but I am going to ask you guy’s a small number of questions.

1) Is Mac is better than PC?

2) Does Mac run Halo?

3) Will Mac able to run OS really well like really strong like other PC but better?

4) Will it also support all programs and software like HEK+ and halo editing kit?

5) Can MAC run 3ds max ,Sculptris, Xfire?

6) And is the hardware, graphics is better than PC?

1) Don't ask a question that will only lead to opinions and not facts. Some people like Mac, other's like PC. I like both to be honest but I use PC more.

2) Not very well if you even get it to run in Wine (Last time I did it, the screen was all over the place but that was a few years ago.) The normal Mac version of Combat Evolved you can buy should run fine.

3-5) Try Wine although I'm not sure if OS will work.

6) You never specified the specs nor to what you're comparing it too ie hardware.

1.Please, don't go there. We don't need a Mac vs PC war

2.I think it should run the Mac version of Halo Combat Evolved just fine.

3.Not sure if there's a Mac version of Halo CE or if OS has Mac support.

4.Same as above

5.Maybe? You should look the websites for those programs, see if they have Mac support.

6.Hardware, can't say for sure. Graphics, that is different for a lot of PCs. Some PCs are extremely powerful, with top-notch graphics. Some PCs simply suck.

This thread is going to become a flame war, and you already know it.

1) This is subjective to person, although the average answer you're going to get is PC being superior. There is different sections to look into, like Software, hardware, etc. Really, if you want a unix based OS, just go with linux, its free, and can be installed on anything.

2) OSX runs Halo Mac. Not Halo Custom Edition. You can install Windows onto your mac, or use a virtual machine, or any software that incorporates WINE like crossovers (or, just WINE itself). Other than directly using a Windows OS on the machine, there will always be minor hiccups with any windows software on a non-Windows OS, although I have actually found benefits.

3) Right out of the box, WINE based things will not use directx overrides, although apparently some people know how to get them to work. If you install an actual windows OS, it will work fine. The level of how OS works, will determine completely on what hardware you have in the computer.

4) If you install a Windows OS, sure. Otherwise, check the WINE Application Database for compatibility notes.

5) I don't think 3dsmax outright has a mac version (Too lazy too google it), if they don't, same as everything else.

6) Depends on what hardware you choose. Macs and PCs are essentially the same; the only core difference is one piece on the motherboard that tells the machine is a mac; if you alter the OS slightly to think that chips always there, you can install OSX on any PC.

Here's the list of compatible Mac products from Autodesk.
http://usa.autodesk.com/products/mac-compatible-products
It shows 3DS Max on the "Windows on the Mac" side.

^Thanks for being so thoughtful. Your contribution is duly noted and the insight you have on the matter is greatly appreciated.

Mac has its own version of Halo, but does not run custom edition. However, you can still modify maps with a more limited set of tools, and there is a small and withering modding community for both Halo Mac and Halo Demo.

Just wondering, but would I be breaking any rules if I posted a link to their website?

Halo Mac. Not Halo PC, or Halo Custom Edition. There is a special version of H1 for Mac, that will run on OSX directly.

To run actual windows applications, you either need to install Windows, WINE, or a Virtual Machine. Obviously windows can run any windows application. Mac isn't anything special, its just a brand named PC, with a chip to tell OSx to allow itself to install.

OSX + Parallels +CE +OS can run great. I run my stuff on my dad's iMac time to time and get pretty great performance, even running at 2560x1440 (that's 4x 720p for those that don't know). You can also set up the computer to use bootcamp, so you can switch between running your windows installation in a VM or via dual boot.

PC overheat, viruses, hacks , freezes and we have bunch of stupid leads, speakers, PC box and monitor it makes everything looks a mess and annoying.

With Mac you only have keyboard, mouse and Mac desktop.
That's it.

I agree with Echo OS run smoothly on Mac than PC. It's a fact. However it's expensive to buy Mac because it has kick ass softwear.

Very lucky guy he is. I feel a bit jelouse... I don't know how he can afford Mac. But good luck.

Any electronic can overheat. Macs have viruses too, like that mac defender that bypassed the admin installation requirements; the fact the hardware doesn't vary, you can freaking install viruses on the BATTERIES, meaning you cannot even remove some with simple reformatting; the fact there is so many different PC combos, PCs actually have better hardware defenses against them. There are hacks for macs too, as well as the fact every few versions of OSX, they end up freaking reintroducing the same problems, like the fact ANY user, even a guest, can recover any users password; this flaw has been re-introduced multiple times, and could be done the exact same way every time (its not like it was a different exploit), More so, patches for known problems takes for ever; Giant java exploit based virus, other OS' got it immediately, but due to apples protocols, it took months before any apple users got correct protection. Any electronic device can freeze. If you dont like having additional hardware, you can get monitors with everything, or even a all in one PC; I really dont see how Apple giving you limited hardware choices is making it better than a PC where you can have those same options if you so choose.

Anyways, I was referring to the hardware in the quoted statement (since I said the chip to install OSX), but sure, we can talk about how the OS has just as many problems as ANY OS.

These questions are on topic and as long as the discussion does not stray too far from them I will leave this thread open. This discussion will NOT turn into a MAC vrs PC discussion.

If people can assist him in running Halo CE on a MAC please do so without editorializing.

I actually gotta agr3e that mac is like pc, although with the right equipment, you can make a pc better than mac at a cheaper price, so halo will be a bigger win for pc, besides, ive had experience with almost all types of apple products, they didn't last a month on terms of speed, and for some others, lasting, but hey, if you are going to be productive on media, then mac has some programs to offer, otherwise, halo it up with the classic windows flag raised

6) depends on how much your willing to pay. I spent 1k on my computer which would be like paying for low range mac, and of course its out does it interms of hardware about 4 times over.

First off, you imply that Mac isn't even a PERSONAL COMPUTER operating system.

Second off, Windows is NOT the definition of Personal Computer.

Third off, Mac sucks, get Windows 7 and enjoy all of these things that Mac doesn't have.

-EDIT-
Mac has viruses, but they are rare, who would make a virus for a system than NO one uses? That's a pretty bad way of spreading a virus.

Windows will be secure if you get Avira Anti-Virus, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and scan files before running them, just don't be an idiot.

there's actually an interesting virus that infects macs and turns them into bitcoin farms. in essence, the virus creator gets free cash and the victim loses internet integrity and computer performance.
