I'm trying to host a dedicated server. I've followed the guide on this site to set the server up and I'm pretty sure I've configured everything properly.
I've opened/unblocked all of the appropriate ports and I can host a regular server perfectly fine. Anybody can join without issues. (After I spent ages working out how to open ports :/)
I've also created a shortcut and redirected the dedi to -port 2312. (I connect on 2303 as per default and can join any other server).
However, if anybody tries to join the server, they apparently get the usual 'Negotiating connection' message. I also get the "Could not join this server. There may be connection issues." message when I try to join the server, once it reaches loading the map.
I've installed SAPP but I've tried without it and I've tried unloading it and re-loading it.
The server's up atm if anybody wants to test it. It's called "Jaz RP Server'. It's just running Timberland atm and it's not passworded. (E: Not up atm as of 19:53 GMT. Tell me if you want to try connecting and if I'm online, I'll start it back up. Though I'm pretty sure the same issue is present for everybody anyway :/)
E: Oh and here's the contents of my init.txt:
sv_name RPServer sv_public True sv_maxplayers 12 sv_password halo sv_mapcycle_timeout 15 sv_mapcycle_add Timberland "ctf" sv_mapcycle_add rpg_beta6_2 "RPG Gametype For Pros" load sv_mapcycle_begin
E3: Nevermind. Seems to be an issue with OS. Probably because I'm not using the default port. Works fine without OS so just going to uninstall it for now and report the issue on the google.code website.

Did you ever fix this problem? I am having the same issues you are. I actually have 2 copies of the game and just using separate ones for multiplayer/open sauce. Did you ever find a solution? changing some code in one of the many open sauce scripts?

If the server connection is timing out you may want to look at your ipbans. Btcc brought this to my attention. Especially if you have full_ipban enabled, which blocks all packets (ex: server won't even show up in the list).
If the problem is related to server setup, I can't really help you unfortunately, as I only have experience renting servers and not hosting my own (yet...).
