There has been a lot of cynicism recently about the lack of players on custom maps. I decided to take some screenshots of custom map games over the week. This was not only to prove the community is not dead, but it is also to remind us of why we all love Halo: CE. The maps included are Bigass, Immure, Ambush, and CMT Snow Grove. I tried to get some shots from some Chronopolis and (H2) Turf games I played, but my models kept trying to kill me.

I really love those maps, except Immure, Immure is "meh" in my opinion, at least with those [REDACTED] Wasps.
Oh, and if it's not dead it's suffering. You don't go anytime you want and find good custom maps being played (maybe only some classic ones), you have to be lucky to find good and new maps with at least 5 players. And I think Immure doesn't count because, if I remember correctly, it's included in a very popular pirated and portable version of Halo CE with other maps like Delta Ruins and Extincion.
