I've been away from the CE community for about a year, but when I returned to play on servers hosting my favorites such as Extinction or Coldsnap, they were nowhere to be found. Do such servers still exist, or have they been permanently removed? If so, I would like to know how I can get to play Custom Edition multiplayer again.

Yeah, a lot of servers (SmG and DG) run stock maps, which is totally lame, but there are still servers that run custom maps. However, Coldsnap and Extinction, while there are servers that run them, are not that great compared to many new custom maps. I would suggest checking out things like H3 Core, With Whiteness, H3 Foundry, and RPG Beta 7.

In what time do you go to join those servers? In certain times, there'll be a lot of players storming in servers like these.

Thanks for the tips, I'm glad to be able to play again. And I'll certainly look into those new maps.

Check out the ®ealworld servers - for custom maps (®ealworld server) and stock maps - all the ®ealworld servers have the ® symbol as first character.

They're also HAC enabled meaning if you don't have the map currently running on the server and you have HAC2 installed your client will automatically download the missing map and join the server.

I still am at a loss for why the makers of Custom Edition added the original maps. If you want to play those, you should do so in Halo regular not CE. Besides, they lag less in regular and are just as modable.

... Or all these server-hosting clans could simply host these new maps instead of the stock maps or those giant map packs that has like hundreds of maps in them...
