i used the wraith for reference, and got the ghost and banshee from campaign destroyable while unoccupied.
they share all the partial damage/death explosion effects it seems.

i created new vehicle tags for the warthog and tried using the same method for destruction on it
and gave it health and made it destroyable while unoccupied but nothing.

what would i have to do to make a new vehicle destroyable?

I have been experimenting with this for some time now and figured it was my turn to give back to the community lmao! The only file that you need to open is the collision model file of any type of object. Until now I had only been building destructible scenery, but you gave me the idea to try it on vehicles.

from the top under flags, you might want to uncheck 'only damaged by explosives' since it seems to be a little buggy when I try to use it.

under the body section, under 'maximum body vitality' put 15. this is a small number that will take 3-4 assault rifle rounds to damage which is good for easy testing and can be changed. under 'body damaged threshold' put 5. now you can add damaged effects to it so when its 'destroyed' it will show some debris. under 'body depleted effect' I put 'weapons\frag grenade\effects\impact metal'

under materials add 1 to the 'body damage multiplyer'. this allows that part to receive damage.

under regions check 'dies when object dies'. this allows it to 'die' LMAO. but now it gets interesting. under 'damage threshold' put 1. under 'destroyed effect' it uses '.effect' files like 'effects\blood aoe elite'

experiment and let me know how it goes! I would be willing to make an in depth tutorial but I don't have a capture program... lol good luck!

sweet, got it working! thanks.

so i opened model collision geometry for the warthog
i had unchecked only damaged by explosions earlier and set health and effects
maximum body vitality 100
body damaged threshhold 50
body damage effect vehicles\wraith\effects\partial damage
body depleted effect vehicles\wraith\effects\death explosion
body destroyed -10
body destroyed effect vehicles\wraith\effects\death explosion (for now ha gotta make one)

i didnt put a body damage multiplier for the materials...lol
its cool i can make the different materails absorb less or more damage

and i didnt check dies when object dies for all the regions

i left damage threshold at 0, i think thats for individual pieces to have health.
ima probably make the tires and stuff breakable while driving it some time since i got it now.

and theres a free screen recording program called bandicam
google it its way better than fraps and free

heres a video of the vehicles in game, the vehicle destroyed effect makes a white blur almost like a rift from another dimension is coming to claim the vehicle.

as well as my weapon projectile blood spray effect
