Not all of us want to mod CE. Some of us just want to mess with the game assets, use them for measurements for canonical purposes on the wiki, or render scenes. Personally, I find the attitude that ripping is some secret thing not to be instructed publicly is ridiculous.
I have seen the reason that 343 or MS may try to just halo maps down for ripping halo 4 content, but I don't see why since reach and all the previous titles aren't a big issue anymore, and it's not like you can play the game with ripped assets. Sorry to rant like that. Just annoyed. There's apparently a group that works on ripping content. Obviously they already have some Halo 4 assets, don't get annoyed with spartan_094. It's actually not his place to release ripped Halo 4 content. If you got into some secret group you wouldn't go right ahead and leak content, and break their rules. So no, there is no rule against it. But the group that is ripping it is not releasing it until they are ready. The same thing happened after Reach came out. There is an attitude that everything injected into HALO has to ooze with an unseen standard of quality before it is accepted. The people who create tools without the intention of sharing (Or percieved future intent) tend to keep stuff within the same obvious circle of people. These people often have some agenda to 'eventually' release said tools or content, when they are only truly playing 'Look What I have'. Keeping things locked away to preserve quality content, original content, or to reduce saturation of maps or assets is ridiculous. I understand the will to protect what you create, but every community has tool makers, and those that cannot. Why look down on those who cannot? Source, Doom, XNALara, Quake, Unreal, Crysis, and nearly every other game or engine thrives on sharing of content... Be it new, ripped, Whatever. This 'comnunity' should thrive on content. I have noticed this is certainly a trend here, as alexis notes. I agree that as primarily a modding site, sharing content should be integral to the comunnity, where most of it is merely shown via screenshots. I can understand why others don't wish to share their personal creations though, and respect that. But hiding methods to extract assets is quite frankly foolish in my opinion. It'd be one thing if the goal of keeping it private was to refine the ripping methods untill they are polished enough for general use, but I get the feeling that's not the reason. Whatever. I'll wait until somebody decides to say how one does it. In the meantime, anything I create or edit I will share when i'm happy with how it comes out.

I apologize for appearing noobish, but I wanted to inform ya'll on the missing texture files, according to 3dsMax.
First off, the model looks legit, and it would have undoubtabley taken a loooong time to have modeled this. The model geometry matches up, and it's pretty friggin' sweet.
Here are my findings: -Missing Textures: objects/characters/storm_elite_ai/bitmaps/storm_elite_ai_anatomy/storm_elite_ai_anatomy_diff.tif objects/characters/storm_elite_ai/bitmaps/storm_elite_ai_techsuit/storm_elite_ai_techsuit_diff.tif "/"/"/bitmaps/storm_elite_ai_techsuit/storm_elite_ai_techsuit_normal.tif "/"/"/bitmaps/storm_elite_default/storm_elite_default_armor_diff.tif "/"/"/bitmaps/storm_elite_default/storm_elite_default_armor_normal.tif "/bitmaps/storm_decals/bitmaps/storm_covenant_decals_graphics.tif
-EDIT: On another note, I am very tempted to use this to design armor like Combat, Asthetic, Flight, and even Arby's armor. This is most definitely, dare I say... Squidtastic. -END EDIT

I, myself am not too excited over H4 rips. We can hardly get H3 rips working, much less Reach (with the same functions as the real game) H4 will never be pulled off.
