Is there any way to lower the destiny below 1? 1 is really too much for me when there is a 4000 object limit per detail object type.

spread the grass out further from each other and shrink their size; this will make the distance fade harder to notice. make the grass a darker green; highlights on the grass texture makes it stick out and look bad. also, use a gradient on the alpha for the bottom half of the texture to make the line where billboard and floor meet less noticeable.

Also, if the limit is 4096, and not 4k like you are saying, we should be able to enhance that with OS. The pic is really impressive. Is it a ripped bitmap or custom?

I've never made an attempt to but would it not be easier to create the alpha planes for the grass as non-colliding planes in the BSP or as large patches of scenery?

I've been asying that to hil from the beginning, but I thought it would be better to make some uncollidable planes in grids. Or why not to make GBXmodels (sceneries) of a large amount of grass like this and disappear when you're close to them with LODs with the appearing distance of the grass ? That might look gross but no one cares lol

I was thinking about making it scenery, maybe even animated, but it will be a lot of work doing them. Maybe if map was small then I would do that way.
I could also create a lot of same detail object collection tags and that way i could increase the limit.
And what nobody has still answered, I want destiny to be lower than it is right now.
EDIT It seems that limit 4096 is only for rendered objects. Edited by altis94 on Jan 12, 2013 at 07:32 AM

I'd be interested in seeing what those textures look like. The detail objects i have has one cluster of grass and the brush sets one or two every like 5 feet when i click and drag. I am using standard sapien. I'm just curious as to how many clusters are in one texture. Lol.
