Hi all, i worked on a de-dust2 bsp, but i have many error and i search someone for help for fix erroe, texturing and make the map. the bsp is modelised but have error. If anyone is interested for work in this project my xfire is: spartan22550 skype: spartan22550 download the bsp here: http://dl.free.fr/nyqn1pgGt i had many problem with 3dsmax (dont make the wrl... i dont why ...), and i really need help for fix error, texture it. lol i can't understand what the download page says, so i don't know which button is the download icon. like most models it should be no problem to fix what evers wrong. edit: now worries got it now Edited by ally on Oct 27, 2012 at 09:55 AMedit: just looking at the model in 3ds max, you have degenerate triangle i can see without running tool commands, they are basically areas where the the model shows parts like this... to fix things like that you just connect the verts where i have added the black lines. yeah, although my 3ds max 8 only seems to show faces...never worked out how to show polygon count lol faces: 13914 extracted bsp though :) so far this is what needs fixed: Edited by ally on Oct 27, 2012 at 11:01 AMedit: Edited by ally on Oct 27, 2012 at 11:17 AMedit: okay so 10 gone and 1 degen left, i'm leaving the last 1 for you to fix yourself, just follow the image above on how to fix it. i think it's better to let people learn by fixing things aswell once told how to, remember to make a shaders folder for the shaders too. Thanks you Ally, that's the first time i see this type of error, my precedents maps was really simple, it's the first "complex" bsp i try to make. Thank for your help :)
i seen the original bsp from css; it had 135 000 face, that's why i try to remake a similar bsp in 3dsmax with less face. Edited by Dalek on Oct 27, 2012 at 12:26 PM

thanks waffles but 3ds max 8 doesn't have the extra option, 3ds max 9 was when that was changed. but in max8 it shows up in the selection window lol no idea why i didn't look at that earlier on :) anyway the poly count is that map.

Heh sorry, I was going to ask for tri count instead of poly count; just gotten so used to typing polies instead of tri. But okay.

you're going to have to either adjust that skybox or else add invisible planes to stop the players getting on the skybox, you could just texture the rest in gravel and only have the 4 sides and top as sky, that way would be more normal i think.
