Whenever I run Halo Custom Edition and join a multiplayer game on my Windows 8 (Enterprise Evaluation) based Asus G74SX-DH72 computer, it disconnects from any server I join after about 2-5 minutes. Is anyone else having this problem? I just can't seem to figure this out. (I have also tried to run it in compatibility mode, to no result) Thanks for the help!

Well that's no good. Seeing as W8 isn't out yet, I doubt you'll find anyone with an answer if it is a W8 specific bug.

Also on the topic of W8, OS does not support W8 as of yet, anyone who uses it or is planning on using it in the future, beware.

I have windows 8 and it works just fine for me... No connection problems. Did you make a restore point on your system before installing windows 8? OS works fine for me....

It will run I believe, but W8 doesn't allow apps like OS to write it's error logs to whatever location. Honestly its all dev stuff I dont understand well, but I believe that Korn can't/won't support it, because W8 won't give him any debug info if someone has a problem. If he can't see debug info... he can't support it. It will still install and stuff I think, but if there's a problem there is nothing he can do. I could be wrong of course, ill have him explain when he returns from his trip.

haha! Silly new technology needy people and their release day buying mentalities. XD
I will buy windows 8 in about a year while everyone else gets to have the "fun" of making it work to perfection for me.
Enjoy your tablet! :D
ENJOY YOUR AGONY!!! HAHA HA HA HA! HAAA HAAA HAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

lolbutsrsly. If you are a gamer whatsoever, or just a person who likes to keep their sanity, why in God's name are you buying a new OS within the first year of release?! Even my two CST course's professors in college say to never do that. Let the "ermahgerd compehrters" people figure out the problems while you sit on the stable OS and wait for "those" people to weed out the issues.
Seriously, just switch back to windows 7 as your primary. Throw win 8 on another partition for you to learn it perhaps, but don't use it as your primary OS.

At least there are no Windows 8 haters here.

Windows 8 is awesome.

I hope any issues are fixed soon. I'm buying Windows 8 as soon as I've dealt with my current bank issues. (Even though before I tried the release preview, I was a major hater)

But wasn't that why he made the game automatically generate those dump files in the reports folder when it exceptions? I'm fairly sure that was a fix for W8 (As well as making it easier for people to get the exact exception data).

Anyways, rather than getting dropped all the time, what other info can you give us? How much ping are each of these servers at? Did you play on the same servers when you used a REAL operating system rather than a locked down tablet OS? Are you playing on 1.09 servers? etc. The more info the better.

heh. Other than the cloud connection feature, I have no reason at all to get windows 8 ever. I absolutely hate tablet designs too. And in fact, cloud connection is just less security in reality. If you can access your computer and info from anywhere, that means so can anyone else. Frankly, I want people to actually have to break into my house to get at my computer. Cloud will be the candy to the thieves and the ruining of the computer industry eventually. Sure cloud is wonderful for some things, but there are simply limits that people need to see that they DON'T see.

Cloud connection isn't a feature I ever want to use. Pointless for me. I only use my computer at home. I don't need to connect any other computers yet.

The UI's what I think is awesome. Seems stupid in media. But if you try it, you'll find it works well. It's even better if you combine it with Start8 and set the Windows key to go to the Start Screen. Then you can use the old Start Menu alongside the new Start Screen. It works well.

Can't you run OS in compability mode or something?

I already said that I tried and it still didn't work. I don't know it seems like I'm the only one this is happening to. I've checked all of my ports and there is not program running through the halo ports so there should be no reason why I cant play. I started a server (Nabakin-CTF) and I'm going to see if I get disconnected by that.

I also already tried running halo in safemode and that didn't change a thing. Maybe I shouldn't have posted this as a Windows 8 problem, because it's likely that it's not.

P.S. I love win8, even though I can't get this to work.
