I know this has something to do with the UI.

No, the map description. Such as the map description of Blood Gulch: The quick and the dead

i have no idea of the map you mean, the description i would assume is the name. so not sure what you mean here.
edit: you mean the name and an image of the map when scrolling through the game maps. like the way custom maps don't show an image? Edited by ally on Sep 24, 2012 at 05:06 AM

I know it can be done by modifying the existing ui.map, someone told me about it. I just don't remember how.

Que irritatingly pointless post:
I know exactly what you mean, and I even had a tutorial which I found in the files section, but I lost it when I reinstalled windows... Have a browse through there, I am fairly certain there was one to allow your map to have an image, capitalised name and description. I can't remember whether this works in distribution - I imagine it would be somewhat pointless if it didn't, so I would guess it does.
So to be clear, I know it's possible to do, I just have no idea. There is definitely a tutorial somewhere.
Anyway, sincere apologies for the vagueity, hope you find summat useful.
