The first "Halo" game I'm not looking forward to in any way.

This game has everything a Halo fan could want. Everyone who played last week says this surpasses any of the games bungie has done.

why cant we rip animations from other halo games?

I consider myself a huge fan of the original trilogy and have watched many of the youtube vids of H4's single player or spartan ops. It does not appeal to me. The elites still behave like they do in Halo Reach, and I know me and other fans of the original elites' behaviour are not a fan of this "evolution" in their behaviour. I have not seen one epic setpiece in all of the vids so far, no beach assault, no delta halo odst drop, no covenant, nothing of the sort. Furthermore the robots have nothing to do with original Halo, and feels to me as an attempt to milk the franchise.

So no, this game does not have everything a Halo fan could want. I would have rather seen a proper ending to the original trilogy, than a bunch of robot wars slapped onto Halo Reach 2.

That said the multiplayer modes look rather interesting, and I do find 343 has some good ideas pertaining to game modes. But the single player so far does not appeal to me. I miss the lush green rolling hills of Halo, where you would wage a simplistic yet "romantic" war against a hostile alien species, on a mysterious alien artifact. Yeah, I think Halo has lost it's magic, a real shame.

It was already confirmed that there would be no flood in halo 4.

Would this be do-able in CE, provided the Flood were rigged to the same bones as the standard cyborg? I believe I saw a thread a while back that said it was possible for different teams to have different appearances.

I think he means having the flood and MC on the same boneset, so you can swap of biped using only one tag for both perms, and you can include the FP flood arms in a single weapon as FP model, it would be possible to do but very annoying

I know what you're saying, but I would still wait for the game to come out before any judgement is made. I'm not saying the game is gonna be awesome, or terrible. I'm just saying it would be best to know the entire picture before I form an opinion on it.

I am quite disappointed in where the Covenant are going in this trilogy. You described the original trilogy as a "romantic" war between two sides, and I totally agree. The storytelling in the original trilogy was so rich and gave you understanding of both sides. Storytelling in Halo 2 especially was absolutely superb. The only story-related goodness I see so far with Halo 4 has to do with Cortana's rampancy.

But, that said, Halo 1 was presented before its release as a shooter game without too much of the story really being presented. But when the players got a hold of it, they really got the treat of their lives. My hope is that 343 is doing the same, and we will get something absolutely awesome from the campaign storyline.

We shall see in November.

Halo 4 actually looks really good so far. I might steal my brother's Xbox to play it.

I'm not a fanboy though, so I can't really comment on how true it is to the Halo series. Frankly, nobody should care. It still looks like a great game regardless of it's name.

We'll have to wait and see then. Still, I hate 343 for not bringing in REAL flood into halo 4. This is only a multiplayer infection mode remake and renamed as flood.

The forum link is a post made by a community member, so that's not exactly a reliable source.
The halocouncil link showed a video with footage from CEA and some pictures of ce models. And, it had Bungie logos stuck all over it. Seems fake to me.

yep that's fine. Although it looks fine when you click it, but the actual link when you hover over the bblink is missing a : after the https.

It's a matter of opinion really. This doesn't have to be a flame war... Everybody can give their own two cents on the topic. Except you shouldn't force others to believe your own opinion, if they don't want to... Honestly, my opinion is that, who knows Halo CEA had some floodmode speculation, even Reach did. We'll just have to wait and see.

i can't say what is real and what isn't, it's best just to post what you find to be true, then left others make of it what they will.

until most people can play it and see it then they will be skeptical about it, no need to get worked up and argue if it's real or isn't, no big deal really.
sure it could ruin a surprise for some people that would rather just wait and see.

after all it's only a halo game, cod is better :)

It's gangnam, not gangum. And what about french? There was actually no sarcasm there, I'm serious that I can read french, which with that I am inferring the magazine scans were in french.
