You cant run tool.exe from the file. You have to use command prompt. The easiest way is by sticking a command prompt in your Halo CE directory, then type "tool" and press enter. (without the quotes)

With Guerilla, as long as it is in your Halo CE directory, and the tags folder is too, it shouldn't say that. As long as all of your tags are in the Halo Custom Edition\tags folder.

I was gonna try to reply to everything you said but I thought about it and I'm just gonna make a tutorial for a people who just downloaded hek and gmax and don't know what to do...
(since I started started last year in February and didnt know what the HEK to to then and I'm starting to understand now, I couldn't find any tutorials that made sense, so I played around and sort of figured it out.)
I'll try and make one that is basic enough that it makes sense to me. :)

Just make a shortcut. either right click on cmd.exe or on the menu item (start>all programs>accessories>command Prompt) and drag it to the Halo CE folder or anywhere you want and then select create shortcut. Right click on the shortcut and select properties and edit the "Start In" field to be your Halo CE folder. (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition) for 64 bit C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition for 32 bit.

Now when you open the shortcut it will put you in the correct folder to access tool.

If cmd.exe can't be copied then he hasn't got admin privileges enabled on his computer.

I remember when my hek files got corrupted once I downloaded it.
FURIUOS WAS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Does anyone know what its like to download 250MB worth of data only to have it corrupt once it downloads. theres 4GB worth of data in a month for the intire familiy. By the way mom pays for the internet so she went of like a SHIVA warhead when she checked the data counter.
Anyone feel free to laugh at me I have nothing to lose.
sorry for spelling misdakes.
Also if you dont know what a SHIVA warhead is read HALO: fall of reach the graphic novel:
the covenant to find out how much anger had built inside her. =-)

True but there is absolutely no reason to copy cmd.exe. That is what shortcuts are for.

Wouldn't you have to type in like: "cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition" every time you start cmd? If you copy cmd to the folder it's path is the same as it is in the folder, so you only have to type in the tool and the command.
No. If you create a shortcut then edit the "start in" parameter to be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition" then when you double-click on the shortcut you will open the command line window in that folder.
