When I start the game, The "Halo" Screen shows up, then it goes black. If i press the esc button, white words for "ok" and "back" show up. Help me!

a screenshot of this?, as i have no idea what you are talking about.
to see the options (okay & back) you would need to have entered a menu. |

The Ok/back that shows up when you press esc. Would be the box saying "would you like to exit halo. Ok/back"
it has happened to me before because I have multiple haloce games on my F drive so I can have a game for beta testing maps and another for playing multiplayer, on my beta testing version I deleted all the custom maps so it loads faster and I accidentally deleted the "ui.map" file(which is the file for your menu) and when I opened it, it did as you said, so my suggestion to fix this would be to get a new ui.map file (a custom ui.map file would work as well. If this doesn't work then I have no idea what is wrong. |

Yeah, as hobbet360 said, check that you have a ui.map file before you do this.
I have a copy of that default ui.map if you need it. But if you can't see/select any other menu option, you might need to re-install the game. Do the ui.map check before un-installing/re-installing because that may cause even more hazards for you like not installing or something. If it doesn't re-install, you will need to re-download the installer and delete your old one. Best advice I can give without a screenshot of this error. Spartan CT27 |

Maybe you have anti-aliasing on? I had one problem where everything was just black and white, turns out I needed to turn anti-aliasing off in order to play the game.
Try looking in your graphics card settings and setting anti-aliasing to use application settings if it's not already. If it is, then something else might be causing the problem |
