What features? Apart from, really, the rotors and VTOL capability, nothing else.
Virtually every human flying vehicle in halo (pelican, hornet, falcon, longsword) has VTOL capability. VTOL is much better than usual propulsion and taking off; it is much better for combat zones, as you do not need an airfield to transport troops out. You can sustain a guerilla war, as all you need to do is take the tarp off of the landing pad+VTOl-capable craft, and you can rain hell. The falcon functioned more of a Helicopter/Osprey, as you entered from the side only, had side gunners, and could lift off vertically, however it haz the Osprey speed. The Pelican would be much more akin to the Osprey; it simply switches out the rotors, has a different body, and you've basically got the pelican. So with your logic, we should hate the pelican? |
