Hey guys, I want to ask 2 Q's:-
1) How to add a teleporter in H2Sapien
2) How to remove rainbow type textures that come on 'lighting', I want the textures I added in 3DS Max like f_im floors or f_im forerunner_blue

Anyone who answers will be greatly thanked.
Now one more,
How do you add custom picture to a made map instead of that '2' logo that normally appears in the Custom Maps Select Menu? I know how to name a map and make it's des. by making unicode .txt file.
(Atleast I could learn this much about all this long lasting process)

1) http://www.monstrmoose.com/MMrepository/Halo_Tools/2_Vista/Tutorial/Halo_2V_Map_Editor/teleporters.html will tell you what to do, essentially one part is the scenery (the model and shader) while the other part is the functionality (which makes you teleport and dictates which direction you will face upon entry).


2) The rainbow colored materials are happening because you have not named them correctly (which everyone does at first) or the shaders do not exist. Post the Max file and I can help after taking a look.


3) They removed the ability for us to make a custom picture, well we can make it but it will not compile correctly. They probably didn't want anyone making offensive custom map previews, such as a porn picture.

Thanks a lot for all help given! Now, I've made a teleporter. Thanks to you. Well, I named them as I seen through tutorials, thought not to include because it would made the post too longer and I was lazy too.. :)

Can I now ask one more Q?
I need a Flycam For Halo 2 for making Machinima. And, those files are too huge in size, mine is a limited download data connection, don't wanna waste it, or else my father would scold me. Well, yes I'm an 12 year old child who loves halo( Please don't leave me listening this, I'm desperate in the need of help). So, a Flycam, Please? I have Blu Trainer 3.11, but it shows some dialog boxes telling some error and it doesn't work. Well, you are GREATLY THANKED!

I'll take a look at your Max file them edit this.

EDIT: Okay a few notes on your Max file:

-After you do the STL Check you can delete it or just go back (Ctrl+Z) to before you used that modifier.

-How you have the other pieces linked to the b_levelroot is perfect (push H for a better view of the linkage). Just keep doing the same when adding other objects.

-Bring up the Material Editor by pushing M. Now go to the first material (+Sky). What you did here looks pretty good but it needs a different layout, basically all of the materials go together into this first section (the first ball or orb). So click on the button that is labeled as Standard, now you will see a list of options, select Multi/Sub-Object. Then it asks if you want to get the previous entry (the Sky), tell it yes.

Now fill in the rest, then go and select each mesh object and assign the new materials.

In other words: copy the second material (f_im plate) info into ID 2, the third (f_im forerunner_blue) into ID 3 and so on.


Now I'm looking at the objects (Box01-03). The problem here is that you have not properly assigned any materials to them. To do so, select an object then open the Material Editor again (M key), then click the Assign Material to Selection (the button looks like a blue ball on top and a white square on the bottom and its just below the Material orbs).

Not quite done, back to the object (a mesh, and it must be a mesh to do this next part). Go to the area where you apply modifiers, go down a bit to where it says Selection and click the red square (Polygon). Now on your keyboard do all Ctrl+A (select all) to select all of that objects mesh, it will turn red. Scroll way down below Selection until you see Surface Properties. From here you set the ID to the material you want.

Dealing with lighting: as the map gets larger and more complex, the lighting time will take longer, but you do not have to relight your map every-time just to preview the changes, so keep that in mind when compiling with or without light. Basically you can light on the first compile (even on lowest light quality) then when you are ready for the final you light on full quality.

There is an application called Ambiguous made by a friend of mine. It has handy features such as third person and still cam, along with many more cool features.

It is not intended as a hack tool for MP but can be misused, so all I ask is that you do not abuse its power. I don't like having to ban people for hacking online but I do none-the-less. What you do on your own hosted or private games is up to you though.

Well, yes, I know about the Material Editor much(thru tutorials). What you said (Multi/Sub Object) is what I had done. But the only one of the sub materials was being applied everywhere, even when I ordered to apply another Sub Material. I tried both dragging-and-dropping the material on the selected ID, and the "Apply to Selection" button. So I decided to do this. Well, these are the error that always come to me. My 3DS Max, which worked 1 year ago properly, but I didn't knew much about it so I left using it, and then today, after 1 month of my father formatting the computer, with the same OS, just for killing a virus, and 3 weeks before the problem was that textures didn't appear clearly, the bitmaps used to appear all grey, on the normal colors(blue for the +sky) would appear properly. Now this is the problem. Thanks for the "proper attachment to b_levelroot" compliment. Yes, I did the STL Check as I heard. Those Red and Blue boxes (Box 2, Box 3) are the base marks. Red for Red base and Blue for Blue Base. Well, I din't assign a material colour to them, because the had the color when they formed. That was my mistake...................
Well, can you upload a proper 3D Scene? (I know I've asked u too much, and if I don't do it myself I wouldn't learn it, but just to get the basic Idea how it should be, because I'm not understanding in words :!)
Thanks. And, um, Bad link to download of Ambiguous, it says: "Wait for 12 sec", then the countdown goes to 0, but nothing happens on it reaching 00. If u have Ambiguous, then please as well upload it.
Don't worry, I wont use it for bad purpose. Just I need a Halo 2 Flycam, (don't know what's Stillcam used to do) and that's the full stop. I will use it for making machinima(legal, isn't it?).

Ambiguous not working. Tried normally and as administrator. Kept in the directotry of halo 2 (and also not). What to do for a working flycam? (Not insulting it)
