Hey guys, I have a few questions: 1. Is anyone willing to give the Halo CE Website a better search function - it's quite limited in my opinion? 2. Will Halo CE ever be on Desura? 3. Could anyone recommend a map that has the most intelligent AI or a map that has a well balanced and frantic AI war going on in it? 4. Could anyone recommend a map that has lots of high res textures and takes advantage of the features in the latest (and greatest!) version of Open Sauce? Cheers Edited by rocknroll237 on Jan 22, 2012 at 11:19 AMEdited by rocknroll237 on Jan 22, 2012 at 11:20 AM

1. Doubt it. Dennis refuses to accept modern website technology... EVER.
2. Halo CE will probably never be on Desura, no. Microsoft barely supports Halo 1 anymore. All they've done for us lately is have somebody check up on us once, and they put an annoying welcome message on the server browser to tell us about Halo Reach.
3. I don't use AI maps so somebody else'll need to answer this.
4. There are no OS maps out yet. SPV3'll be released soon though.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply!
PS Just out of curiosity, why doesn't Dennis like modern web tech?

To take a wild guess, I'd say we'll probably abuse it, or he'll have to pay some buckoo bucks for it.

Please explain this statement. Well, I'm pretty sure last time somebody asked you to update, you refused completely. But it was a long time ago, so umm... Dennis, will you please update your website technology? http://www.php.net/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5

Dennis, will you please update your website technology? http://www.php.net/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5 If you consider moving from Cold Fusion to php an update in technology then you have no idea what you are talking about. All our servers run Cold Fusion and running php is not an option in our business model. There is nothing you can do in php that can't be done in cf and pretty much visa-verse. People have asked me to move to a php forum so they can have voting, polls, likes, blogs, friends, larger avatars and signatures. This forum has those things I have them turned off because they are non-essential. So what is it about the technology that you don't understand and what technology do you wish I would move to and why? Be specific.

I agree with Dennis regarding Polls. This community never was an example of ''Maturity'' so same goes for signature and custom avatars.
and Dennis is right, the .cfm format (Adobe's) is an efficient content manager.
On a personal level however, I wouldn't be against a refresh of the layout (colors, banners)

Maybe one day I will get back to it but I have to change quite a bit of underlying code to make it more compatible and there are other underlying issues that need be dealt with first.

I work in webdesign and I have some custom templates that aren't getting many sales that I can lend to you for free. They are not forum based, but you can use the style for all pages. They are xhtml css and have jquery in them. Edited by HaloMemories on Jan 29, 2012 at 06:56 PM

One thing that would really ruin the forum in my opinion would be adding images as signatures. This gifs make the screen so confusing. I like the forum the way it is. Just like this. The maps site could be a bit more efficient to browse through if you could browse pages by numbers. So if I want to view the maps on page 8 of the Multiplayer Maps section, I could click on the "8" instead of having to go through page 1, 2, 3... 8 There are really just minor complaints like. The site is great. Simplicity+features=

Yeah, ^^ what Tiel said.
Somehow this only happens with "Recent Posts" pages. If you actually click on the last page in each subforum, they magically appear to be fine.

I love signatures, but please don't add them. I'm absolutely certain that people here are immature enough to have 'inappropriate' signatures, or even worse, gif signatures. Ugh!
GIF files are absolutely terrible if there's about 20 posts in a thread and each one has it's own animated signature...
