Of course, but it still requires lots of time and effort. You would need to extract the BSP and textures to usable formats and create new shaders as well.
Also, depending on how many errors there are you could spend more time porting a map then creating one from scratch.

Halo 1 maps are not compatible with Halo 2.
You will have to remake the maps.

well i was probably not being specific enough but thanks for the reply anyway what i meant is could you play custom tag maps

Still not sure what exactly you are trying to say. No, you cannot use Halo Custom Edition tags in H2V. The tag structures are completely different. The only tag you can make with the HEK that works with H2V is the !snd tags. This is currently how we make new sounds for H2V, by making them first with the HEK from Halo 1. H2V's tools do not support compiling sounds.
