Now that we're starting to pick up pace again (although still nothing that could warrant a video each week like before) you'll be seeing more regular updates from us. First up from us today is 6 new pictures of a new bsp in Released. Three which show a generator-esque room or large hall. Those of you with a keen eye will recognise some of the architecture from Halo 2. Over the course of the last 2 weeks one of our long-term beta testers, and major contributor Tuaha (Rofl-Troller) took up the task of taking several reference pictures from the level 'Sacred Icon' in Halo 2. The outcome was 158 reference pictures put to good use. You can see the outcome below: Next up we have a T-junction which will lead deeper into this bsp. Loosely modelled off reference pictures from Halo 2 as well: Finally, we have a small bit of information that I hope you will find interesting. Given our rate of progress we will have this bsp finished, we hope, sometime tomorrow night. If this is the case, then you can expect a small video of this bsp, and of the one we've been showing pictures of too. As I said however, this is only a possibility, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up so we don't just drop a video/trailer on you at random. In a note in relation to StKft, we have decided that a demo release is a good way to get the ball rolling for this campaign, and as a result, we are currently discussing a release date internally of StKft as a demo/trial internally. More on this later. We're looking forward to hearing your feedback on how you think we're progressing so far, as usual criticism is welcome, but keep in mind everything is Work In Progress ((WIP) Especially the lighting!).

That forerunner modelling is some of the best I've seen in the entire Halo series.
Can't wait to see what you can do gameplay wise through your bsp modelling. Hoping to see some battles in that place. ;)

Good news! It seems we were able to make a teaser trailer ready for tonight showing off 'Released' our first custom level. I'd like to remind everyone that everything is still WIP before watching! I'd also like to point out that we've officially changed the name of the mod from 'Flood Campaign Project' to 'The Flood: Forgotten Exile'. More on this later in this post. I felt that with an 'official' name aside from just 'Flood Campaign Project' it would help establish that we're in this for the long haul, that we'll finish this project, all of it. As well as that, it hints to what the story of the mod is about. I've been dropping bits and pieces ever so often about what the story is, but I've never said anything concrete about it. Will post the news now. News:Wow, it's been quite a while since our last news post hasn't it? 5 months. Damn, that's a long time without news. Well, here we are to break that monotony, with a general news post regarding what's going on in general in the mod. First off, I talked about a Twitter account being set up to allow greater developer-player interaction, and I'm happy to report that is exactly what has been done. You can find the Twitter account here: https://twitter.com/#!/ForgottenExileH We'll be posting a lot more WIP content on Twitter before the official versions hit Moddb/Halomaps and our YT channel. So, if you're looking for a greater insight into the mod development, then this is for you. Again, our main reasoning for setting it up being greater dev-player interaction. Secondly, I hinted to a "large announcement" being made in the next few weeks. I can confirm that is still the case. This will be in the form of a trailer shown off at CE3, which is being held on July 28th should there be no issues. You can check out their YouTube page here: http://www.youtube.com/user/HaloCe3Live Thirdly, is some specifics about what you'll be seeing in the .rar file for StKft. There will not only be the .map file and a Readme inside the .rar, but also a Manual and Changes Log (v0.1b release to v1.0release). Now, you're probably wondering, why a Manual? Well, a lot of things are different from the original Halo Campaign. If you've been following us for a while you've probably seen and heard about the new Health system, but for those who have just picked up the mod, it might be a bit difficult to understand. Furthermore, we have done a lot of re-balancing for the player character for example, which is now faster when running forward, but slower strafing or backpedalling. On top of this, there is also the issue of us having changed the healthpack model, and the navpoint bitmap. (Navpoint bitmap is now a grouping of tentacles pointing in the direction of the objective.) P.S: In case you missed it (and because no news post should be without pictures), here are some pictures of our Sentinel 'Emitter' (after looking through Halo 2 files, that's what they're called apparently) and Covenant Incinerator Units. Curious, at any point will you play as an infection form? Say, on the first level, almost as a sort of tutorial? Or would it just be too easy to die?

As much as that's a pretty cool idea, as you pointed out, it'd be pretty easy to die. With that said, we are planning on showing how the player turns into a combat form through cutscenes, and I'm hoping to include some sort of infection animation so it shows the Elite you infect at the start changing into a Flood. As you pointed out though: it's WIP. We'll keep working on it until we get it looking right.
