So- I've seen a few threads about remakeing halo CEA. Now let me ask, your going to make a remake of a remake?
Your pretty much makeing the same game, where is the logic in that?

People should try to make their own custom game instead imo, is much more challenging and satisfying.

I would remake the multiplayer bsps but I'm afraid that nobody would play them. I would remake the sp bsps for CMT but they either don't want them or don't want me.

If you're interested in doing bps work with us shoot me a PM with some examples of your work and I can bring it up with the rest of the team :).

You should be doing stuff for yourself because you want to do it, the needs of others shouldn't be your primary drive is what I'm saying :-)

Isn't the pride of an artist is about making something special for someone and then receive their words of gratitude and praise after you have finished it? There is nothing wrong with working under a client. Besides, it can get lonely when doing things all by yourself...all alone... -Zekilk

Art is an expression of creativity and vision, I do my thing primarily to bring ideas I have in my mind to life. Never said it's WRONG to work for people, but that shouldn't be the primary drive, it isn't for me at least.

I have loads of graphics edits that I personally find rubbish but others have found it to be worthy. Self-criticism makes the idea of making things for yourself pointless.

Okay, I think I know how to settle this internal struggle. I'll 'remake' a mp bsp, and see if it takes off. If it doesn't, I would only have 'wasted' time on a mp-sized bsp, and maybe do sp bsps. TLDR If I remake an mp bsp and nobody wants it, at least I didn't waste my time on an sp bsp. Will have to wait until I finish my current Halo 3 map, Valhalla, and Halo 3 bsp, Sandtrap, before I switch gears.

Listen to the Shiek , he knows what he's talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm6yFEPY9lw&feature=channel_video_title#t=1m49 It's so rewarding to make something genuinely awesome, and to go in there and play it, and let others play it and enjoy it and marvel at it too. Making something look as perfect and professional as possible is so satisfying to see and play your finished product.

Many people here in the community want to learn how to make content for CE. That's what the site is based around, content for CE. Many members still need to learn a workflow and how to use the tools. Best way to learn is to remake a concept already out there. Once people learn how to use the tools then they can start making their own stuff. Until then lots of members like to learn and what better way is there for a halo fan to learn to model a halo asset.

For me, it always gave me a greater drive to try and improve and out do what I did last time. Every time I make something and I'm not happy with it, I usually start over and try to make it better.
