Can any one help me because I can't update Halo CE. I have it on my external hard drive, does that realy matter? I have the update V1.09 but it says I need Halo installed on my hard drive (C: drive) and I tried installing it on my friends computer (he wanted it) and it said the same thing. Can any one help me because I realy want to play a hell of a lot more online matches. I know that I am a nood at this but I am in seriously need of help. Thanks.

On your HCE directory, there should be a application called haloupdate. double click that and allow halo to update to 1.09

I tried that a couple months ago and it didn't work. But in the internet multplayer, there is a section with text that says I have to get a manual update from Microsoft. I also have the update downloaded onto my external hard drive and when I run it, it says I have to have Halo installed on my C: drive and I just don't have the space on C: drive to have it installed there. Thanks anyway.

You can ignore that, it's an old message they never removed. If you open multiplayer and it lets you browser the servers you are up-to-date.

I can browse for servers but I can't play all most all of the. The only ones I can play are the ones that aren't locked, don't have that picture next to the lock and ones that have no player except the one I played last saturday. Thats why I am asking if you can update Halo CE on another hard drive.

If thats true then, I might not get it as another question, how do I play CUSTOM maps online eventhough I have played one custom map, I can't play the rest. I realised it needs to say what ping it has but even with ping (what is ping?) on a custom map. I join a map with ping and then it says failed to load server. In simple form: I choose any custom map with ping, it has ping, click join server, server starts to load, then says failed to load server (even though it has ping). I want to join and it has ping meaning I can play that server but it wont let me. Explain that if you know why. I realy want to play a custom map online and I want to know why it wont let me. Thats why I want to update Halo CE.

What I said is I can only play maps with ping. As lon as they are not for example Realgulch, Hugeass, ect. I can only play the maps that come with the game online as long as they have ping.
