when i first open up Halo 2, it says by my name (offline), then when i go to the live, it tells me to sign in, and when i do, it doesnt sign in. is the live down or something or does it have something with my computer?

Oh, you're on that part... You have to sign several times before it actually works. Do you have a Windows LIVE ID (account)? You need to use that to sign in. It will download your profile, but you'll probably have to download your profile several times before it actually works.

i have had the windows live id for a while and have played on it many times. it just randomly stopped working. when i turn it on it says agrajag815 signed into live(offline). thats the problem

You don't have to buy gold membership! GFWL is free for years. Silver membership works too.

Something else is causing failed to sign in problem. You said it just stopped working randomly one time? So could it be by any chance that you have Internet Explorer on your pc? Sometimes when on IE you set work offline option it causes GFWL to fail.

well it stopped working after i moved and it says you may be trying to connect from a region that is not supported by live. i only moved 5 miles west, and im well into the U.S. it worked for 1 day in the new house. i have internet explorer but never use it.

Well, in h2v, I can use the quickmatch option and make my own servers, and as far as I know, I never paid a dime for gold membership or something. I just signed up for a windows live id (hotmail) that's all.

I had the same problem, my account had reverted to silver, but I recently stocked up on a new 3 month gold and H2V works.

i figured out the problem. there was an update i needed but for some reason it wouldnt register at my home location. recently i took my laptop to a library and tried, and found that it just needed an update
