I'm brainstorming ideas and I want to know if this is possible.
I have a lightsaber as a weapon and lets say I apply a shader that can deflect lasers, maybe the jackal shield or something like that. Would it be possible to deflect lasers that opponents would be firing at you with your weapon?

Hmm.. Maybe, if you make the base model the PR and then change its model to a light saber the n you can probably add a shader with that. That's actually a real cool idea.
EDIT: You might need open sauce Edited by diablo_1422 on Sep 11, 2011 at 11:48 AM

I've been with CE since it's release and I'm embarrassed to say I don't know what open sauce is. sorry I went through quite a dry spell. What advantages to get using open sauce?

More tag space for multiplayer maps (istead of 128, its 512 MB) so you can do mass around with halo more. Open sauce alters the whole game engine. v1.09 of Open sauce isnt out yet tho

OS isn't the answer. There are only like, three people who know how to edit the Halo source code. To deflect stuff you could make the collision model for the weapon vary large, and set it to "force field", "jackal shield", or any of the "shield" type materials in the collision tag.

That's exactly what I was thinking.....have a extremely large collision model, maybe 3x the size of it's model and keep the laser fire slow enough the player has time to aim and deflect. Do you think a fire action would be required for the deflect to take place?
