@Bobblehob: I don't think anyone's hating on you, it's just a lot of people think that they don't have very good storytelling methods. In Halo 1 you were learning about the universe as you played through the game, learning backstory as you progressed, same with ODST you would find something and it would trigger a flashback telling you what happened to your team-mates. In 2, 3 and Reach the story was just kind of playing out as you progressed through the game, there was nothing interesting pulling you in or making you care imo.

I know that no one is hating on me, I was talking about the other games :P To be honest the story playing out around you is what created most of the interest in both Halo 2 and Halo 3

What I meant to say was that in the Halo 1 campaign you couldn't tell why the covenant started hating humans (although i LOVED the campaign.) Halo 2 was sort of the best because it referenced other events that weren't shown in Halo (but the cliffhanger sucked). Halo 3 seemed ok but it was just finishing what Halo 2 started, didn't really bring anything new to the table.

I also think Halo 3 ODST brought in a new perspective, and Halo wars I have never played and don't care that I haven't.

Overall, Halo has alot more story to it than the games show, I mean really, onyx, forerunner worlds, how the spartans started. None of this is in the games. Not even any mention of other spartan teams minus Noble team in Reach.

@Spectre the grunt, considering all the annoying and unnecessary trollish posts you made earlier in the thread, I think it would be best for you to stop :P

I prefer the way bungie did things with the original Halo. I don't like how they did things with halo 3(the others were good, in halo 3 everyone stated the obvious constantly)
You know how nobody told you the story leaving nothing but the mission and Cortana had to find out about the forerunners before mentioning them(like accessing the control rooms knowledge base and pausing to think *and then making a rush "oh hell no" decision*? (which I haven't seen since halo1)). And then rushing you out without filling in details.

I like having to PIECE TOGETHER the story from what I have instead of being given it straight up, that way You don't just have Cortana stating "this is what happened" and being sent on a boring mission where there is nothing to learn because you are told everything by some chattermouth beforehand. A game where you have to pay attention to get that "oh wow, that's what's really been happening???!, mind=blown" at the end of the game :/

Tiel, the only thing canon to me is the original books that were written durring the halo2 era. And yes it does contradict things. If you want to go ahead and say that is canon and amazing, then so is what 343 said about the MC's suit recycling his crap to power his shields.

Wait.. the books said that? Someone was talking to me about that a month or so ago. We where joking about the pain from being hurt making him release his bodily buildups and have that recharge shields.. (I think it started about him never having to use the washroom, etc) thats srs stuff?.. I guess whomever I was talking to has read the books lol.

I'm pretty sure you know how an astronaut suit works while performing EVA where there's no bathrooms.

@Spectre the Grunt -- I think you should leave because everytime I read your posts, all I think is "tl;dr" because I can't read them due to horrible grammar. All I saw was lolz and you complaining about people being mean.

On the past argument, the games really portrayed the story well, except for Reach and Wars, where Wars pretty much sucked, and Reach had several wrong facts.

The Halo story doesn't tell you how the Spartans started BECAUSE EVERYONE THAT WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO THAT CLASSIFIED INFORMATION IN THE STORY that were important would already know. Cortana doesn't tell John that he was kidnapped, Keyes doens't tell John that he was kidnapped, because they all know. Plus, I like it how they never show any forerunners, and always keep a sort of mystery to what certain things do, so its nice.

The only bad things about the story are Reach. Reach is just a slap in the face to all of the Hardcore halo fans who care about the story as well as the gameplay. Reach had several horrible parts, like the Forerunner Temple, Halsey shouldn't have known about. The fact that there were covenant on Reach before the warning came. I mean, seriously. UNSC ain't that sloppy. Plus, if they WERE discover3ed before the general warnign came through, any sensible soldier would report it. Then, the last part, because the POA WAS IN SPACE all the time.

That said, good gameplay, except for the fact that the lites look like they wearing hats.

Anyway, super high junkie marines with superpowers suck. Also, Spectre the Grunt, if you'd seen the trailer, you'd know that all of the things you put out about where Chief would land were wrong.

The Ark curves inward like a bowl, and it is obviously a planet that the Chief is above. Plus, the Ark has been destroyed. It probably wouldn't have that much of it whole.

You're not surprised are you? Halo's a money maker, so why wouldn't they milk it for all they can?

Everyone cries about Milking but fact is people Want milking. This is the way to make games nowadays, like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty show so well. Release crapload of games, DLCs and such spending as little time as possible on each so that in the hype, everyone will buy instead of the ''3 year cycle'' where you have time to do pre production, thinking and rethinking, R&D and then release.

Thing is, Halo milks it as well, but they skilled milkers. They don't hurt the cow, they don't get low quality milk cr*p. We get the best milk out there, low fat milk that TASTES GREAT!
