When I'm far away from parts of my bsp in sapien or ingame, certain faces won't draw. Is there a setting I can change in Guerilla to fix this?

Shall we play a game?

IIRC, this isn't something that can be changed with guerrila: the error you're dealing with here seems to be an improperly portalled map. The only way to fix this would be to edit the map in a modelling program like 3ds max and give it proper portals.

I don't know how to portal, but I'll try using the HEK tutorial. Unfortunately, my map has a large open plain, so I don't know how much portaling can help.

Is there an easy way I can join faces that are in the same plane? I built my map kind of sloppily with too much tessalation.

TBO, you never should have even hit the tessalation button.

Yeah, I'm starting to wish I hadn't. Is there a tool to join them together, or do I have to do it manually?

Also, my portals are getting open edge errors. I think I'm doing it just like the HEK tutorial with the edges going outside of the skybox on all sides. How does that need to work?

You can join them manually if you want... google how target welding works.
But first, try the optimize modifier. Select the faces you want to optimize and apply the optimize modifier. Then convert to editable mesh again.

HEK does a bad job covering portals. It worked in the tutorial map because it had an over simplified skybox. But you'll need to find a good tutorial on this site somewhere.

Idk how to fix the portals, but optimizing reduced the number of faces so that they all show now. I'm not going to worry about making it run faster as long as there's no graphical glitches. Thanks for the help!

There are no "good" tutorials on portals. Portals are extremely unpredictable, much like tool(Tool is extremely unpredictable btw) Here is what you need to know, They need to create a closed space within the map, the portals can't be completely outside map but can be partly inside, as long as there are some part inside the map it will work. It needs to be planar And it can be boxes(Yep). Credits to Skilit.

Oh yeah and you most likely get some errors, Surprisingly enough they don't need to be the "bad" kind of errors, could simply work with errors, without any visual errors ingame. However you will most likely have visual errors.
