Hey everyone,

Just wanted to gather some opinions:

Increasing the FOV in the player biped file for a singleplayer map - yay or nay?

Thanks!

I gave 85 a go, I have to say I quite liked it - it gave me a much better sense of scale of the environments I was in. I am just wondering if anyone has anything massively against it.

I like the original 70 fov, because the weapons weren't made on pc for 90, for instance, there's a few glitches with the fuel rod gun with 90 fov, one being you can see the end of the first person hands when you melee

if you could make the guns look the way they were supposed to while using a fov of 90, then I'd be all for it

Don't change the FoV via halo, it conflicts with external FoV programs.

All you're doing is confusing people who don't know why their view is different, and irritating people who use FoV programs.

Yeah, this was namely what I was wondering about. It's more of a personal preference thing, so I suppose changing the FOV in Halo isn't the best idea.
Thanks everyone.

I like the standard because the walking and the grenade throwing feels WAY off.

Just make sure the FOV of the player matches the vehicles too. Sphinxbios and other peoples maps, get in/out of vehicle super-dizzy camera glitch while the camera adjusts.

Yeah, I noticed that when I was playing around. It's a bit of a funny one, as people use a FOV changer BECAUSE many dislike the narrower FOV in Halo, however once you actually change it, you're causing more upset than harm, it would seem. I think releasing an SP map with increased FOV across the board would be okay, but if I was going to release anything, I would rather people enjoy it than get confused as to why they are suddenly having an FOV of 110 degrees.

I do find though, that it gives a much better sense of the scale of things. Everything in Halo seems so teeny, but it struck me how frikken massive the scorpion tank is, and how small it appears to the player. FOV changes improved that.

That's actually not caused by the FOV but really a use 3rd person camera thing for entering vehicle, which is one of the flags in the vehicle. I've experienced that before.
