in a 3d max format
I played a game called cosmic break

in the game it allows you to edit polygons and paint your models
back then they only let you edit the head i quit because it loads too slow over wifi that i had
i did had fun making a solidsnake head painted and everything i actually made it twice because i lost progress (should save more often when doing projects) the second time was because i ad enough of the lag
i dont have any picture of it but it was enough to resemble solid snake

so this leads to...
i want to try rearranging the vertices of of master chief to create a new biped i believe that it will cause less mistakes for a noob modeler like me this isnt really ripping its modifying i just want to get use to the way a biped is suppose to be before building off of scraps

You won't learn much by moving vertices around... Nor achieve much.

i am a noob but i can learn and some people are different learners

i can compare his height to other models sceneries and bsp when i make them

how do you not learn by playing with something?

now i dont have it yet but i found this image online one can say
ohh (i understand now)
hmm( i am thinking about this)
ah (i got this )
er(ill look more into this)

heres a quote from theghost

"These source files were created using the Master Chief's tags as a direct reference, and so they are nearly 100% perfect.

These files include:

1. perfectly rigged model (all nodes and markers), the mesh with skin modifier, and vertex weights, JMS file
2. collision model (hit boxes). with physics collision JMS file
3. animation-ready master chief, sample running animation, sample JMA file
4. bitmaps, multipurpose maps, and cubemaps used for shaders

Use them for reference for creating new bipeds, modify the collision geometry or bitmaps, or create new animations for the Master Chief's .model_animations file!

Have fun! "

ya see plenty of things to learn for a newbie anyways i think i can look in the ce section for the models i didnt think of this before haha well thanx everyone for looking into this

Your posted aimed towards saying that your going to move vertices to learn how to model, and how to model characters. Which is what I replied to taking that into account.

However you did not say you wanted to use the Chief's tags which are available to you when you install the HEK... so yes, you can learn how to SETUP character models for use in Halo:CE.

In terms of seeing what nodes are used, and how the bones are setup (although more research should be done when setting up your own custom character).

But in terms of modeling you wont learn much at all, sick of saying use tutorials... and no not just on here. Thought that would be obvious, but Google.

Also make yourself more clear next time, as in what you are talking about. Can I ask if your primary language is English?

Yeah, English is my primary, though I think if we continue this it is going to lead into a discussion about punctuation(lets avoid that stuff please xD). I wasn't ever good at explaining things as you can see.

I've had an intro class to modeling so I do know how to model a little.

I know that this work of mine im showing can't be compared to anything.
This was my final project I rushed on it because I didn't know how to rig yet so I didn't take the time to carefully twist and bend the arms and fingers that is why you see the arms all stretched and poking out.
I know that this work of mine I'm showing can't be compared to anything. So don't take it as showing off.

To be honest I'm the kinda of guy who like to get around things but but in life everyone has to go through the same thing. Seeing everyone's mod work here, Halo's really old engine makes me want to be a part of making it go beyond it's limits.

But I do know what you mean by telling people to always look at tutorials. Ever since I've been visiting this site I see threads like that.

But like I said I'm the type of guy who likes to get around things. I'm not necessarily asking for modeling help but I just want to find a way to make things easier for people who don't learn the same.
I want to find ways of creating new and different methods for modeling. Some people like to build, some people may like to mold, and some people like to add stuff a basic structure. Someday i will understand if this is possible. sigh :U Trying out different things is what I'm trying to do.

bleah punctuation outside of school

btw i dont know if anyone knows this but on death island there is a glitch where you use a tank to rack up alot of kills. Ive known this for a long time but i dont know if anyone else knows about it. Im not going to describe it entirely cause if no one knows i want to keep it a secret. :3

I find it humorous that you correct his English usage and then immediately misspell "etc." Join me in laughter: ha!

Anyway, I'm wondering why no one has shown him the tool to convert GBXmodels to 3ds format: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?PG=3&fid=1080
