make a sub-par mod for a sub-par, decade old game and you tell people they will never make it

not sure how you get away with bypassing language filters and continually insult people who offer criticism to you, that's a good sign of a mature and successful dev right ; )

Sub-par mods are featured on Bungie.net, and sub-par games continue to advance and maintain a strong fanbase for over a decade. Constructive criticism looks like this:

I love you Echo.
Gurdy's gonna be dumb :-)

And that's what makes it all worthwhile. *slight bow*

And if you feel like giving me beta builds or an easter egg in Lumoria or anything, ya know, that'd make it worthwhile, too. [/subtletly]

just play the old leaked beta of the map and hush

Agreed. They clearly have nothing better to do.

Obviously they haven't heard of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the show that can be watched 100 times over with zero boredom!

Of course, that's while they wait for Lumoria: Episode Two, which I'll obviously playing rather than writing Avatar fanons on this website I discovered yesterday.... hehe. :)

I meant ATLA series.

Anyway, Higuy I know you aren't on, but if you're going to do what you told me you're going to do, may I recommend doing that after the cutscene I'm working on. Like as soon as it ends. Just a suggestion

In regards to the voice acting, my only problem with it was that intecident sage (The AI) talk a little too fast. The lines should be slowed for the mysterious effect that you'd get from meeting an alien AI without knowing anything else about it.

Other than that, it looks great.

Agreed, i think it would give it a more ancient and mysterious feeling to the AI. Even if you don't it's still awesome.

So, Higuy and l0d3x, are you two still planning on doing the huge set of tutorials for Halo CE when you are done with this project? I really need to know how to script. :P

I would at some point still like to record myself illustrating alot of the concepts I've learnt over the years :-)

Although I wouldn't expect it close to release as my interest has been caught by an exciting new project (non-halo related!) :o

In Lumoria, I know both Lodex and I had to learn more about the engine itself and how it operates, level design on a much larger scale, planning encounters, storyline, environmental design, and even scripting. In the tutorial we were thinking about doing we were going to essentially create a small single player level from start to finish with the basic tag set, show what principles you should take into account when following our workflow, and other things such as that.

In the meantime, I highly recommend "Hourences Guide to Level Design" (just google it). It has plenty of information in there about level design if your looking for that. As for scripting, its nothing complex. as long as you know how to read and write even the most basic syntax in halo you will be good as long as you have hs_doc.txt (which can be found in your halo ce root directory). It lists ALL commands and explains what each does. Just play around in Sapien, start off small, and work your way up. Keep making more and more complex scenarios and you'll eventually gain the hang of it.

well, i'm looking forwards to get your tutorial guys.

i'm currently working on a mp map, but i think i will make an sp one once i'm finished with this one, i do know about AI and scripting but there are things that are unknown to me like making special animations for cutscenes, make an squad move to a certain location BUT being at the same time able to attack you, AI driving banshees, some conditionals that come with AI (what happens if you kill an squad, if you kill a certain amount of them, if you skip some enemies, etc), dropships dropping enemies, pelican dropping allies or picking you up, and all that advanced stuff that you see in the original campaign and yours.

My SP map is going to be a one level one, very unlikely to have a sequel (unless i actually get some good knowledge of those things i mentioned, and i feel like making another map lol)

I hope this one has better voice acting, honestly the first one was perfect except for the dialogue, I found myself laughing out loud everytime someone spoke because of the lack of emotion/stone face type of acting going into the voices. I hope the second episode fairs better.

This. Hahah. They did there best though, especially with the tools they have, I'm glad there is an actual story to it rather then just going through the map. It's something.

If you guys need another voice actor, let me know. I have some pretty heavy recording equipment in my room. Not the best, but sure as hell a lot better then what half of you guys have, aswell with expert experience in audio programs such as adobe audition.

From what I've heard from some audio clips and the trailer, their voice acting is better now. Either way, I play it for the story and to admire their level design. TM did amazing work on Lumoria episodes 1 & 2, and they sure as hell worked hard for it too. Cheers to them and Lumoria episode 2's release.

I've always felt that having the main character be as characterless as possible has been a huge flaw in the halo series. Really happy you're giving may a personality, and not having her be an empty shell like the chief, rookie and N6 were suppose to be.

halo 4, you will like.

also really neat idea implementing a hostile forerunner ai.. not too original but hey im not going to hate until ive played it. only beef(s) i have from the trailer are; why is this ai thing so... descriptive. when its talking about killing may do you really think that forerunners would program thier ai to make sure that that when they kill something that they would melt their armor, burn their skin and crush their bones? just a thought

other things i noticed; two unsc frigates? did we call in reinforcements or whatsup there? um im assuming those red things were lazers and not mac guns? if they are mac guns... faster they must be. if they are lazers thats sweet, but should still be faster... i picture a giant spartan lazor. and this is my personal advice (take it or leave it) remove that ball thing in front of the laser shot.. looks like plasma if u dont.

thats all i got for criticism until i play it :) but ive one last question for you tm ppl;

you got any plans for some increased unsc ordance? halo 1 styled br for example? (jk i think thats dumb cuz you have the pistol) but i mean weapons of that nature? or a halo 1 styled gauss sniper? target locator? ma5k? anything human? if u dont want to spill the specifics thats cool a simple yay or nay will suffice my curiosity

otherwise looks good and deff. looking forward to playing this

Stop trolling, you know well enough it's Lumoria, I'm not sure who goes behind your account but it's one of those people who likes to purposely pretend they're illiterate mexicans or something.

The timing was good, as far as the trailer goes. So was music and how they chopped up the scenes to make it all flow, that was a problem I think was inherent in 1's trailer that got solved in this one.

Thankyou. I worked hard on Ep2's trailer

I find it pretty sad that you think this actually makes people angry. Just because a post doesn't contain any "happy emoticons" doesn't mean I am raging and hitting my keyboard.

Like dude, seriously. Get some anger management before crucifying someone for pointing out repeated spelling mistakes.
