The title says it all. Why? I want to make single player into a fully operational multiplayer game. So how do I do this? Combine all single player bsp's from all single player maps into one giant mutiplayer map.
Who wants to join me?
I am looking for A TEAM to help me ***combine all SP maps bsp into one GIANT multiplayer BSP***
So, whose with me?

Sorry that's just what happens when I say "nope" too quickly. It can't work like that.

It'll never happen. Multiplayer maps have a cache file limit of 128Mb, and as everyone SHOULD know, any single campaign map is well over that limit. Even if you use tool_pro to compile it, as milkkookie said, it would lag. Not to mention that the total combined map size would be about 1.5Gb (with all the tags included - probably an overstatement too, but nonetheless), nobody would be willing to download or host such a map, unless you host it on a separate website, like MegaUpload.
Take my Adjutant Map Pack, for instance. Five maps alone, and the .zip file is already hitting 250Mb - and these are multiplayer maps with their 128Mb cache limit, too.
On a separate note, the math here is not as it seems.
My suggestion: Make each and every campaign map multiplayer. Much simpler than compiling 50+ BSP's into one. Again, probably an overstatement, but likely true.
I could probably turn the campaign maps into multi, but it would take a few weeks to months to get them all properly done.

It would be kind of cool (lolz), but would be very fun. Every single BSP from all 10 of the campaign levels, gawd, try finding somebody to shoot in there. LAGZZZZ Edited by Xoronatus on Jun 13, 2011 at 10:22 PM

Are you talking about all 9 campaign map's into 1? That would never work. If you did like all of 10's BSP's all of a20's and so on it might work.

Is tool_pro same thing as tool ++ ? tool++ is the normal tool but lets you compile without typing anything. tool_pro is a hacked version of tool that lets you compile over 128mb.

...Which is still not recommended, btw. I only used it twice to allow small additions, and both times it was for two of the maps in the Adjutant Map Pack. I really wouldn't use it for such large-scale projects like this, especially for a multiplayer map. Reason being, there have been rumours of the map exceptioning if tool_pro is used to severely bypass the 128Mb cache limit.

BSP switching in multiplayer IS possible, but highly impractical. Especially considering that you only have one spawn point (as more than that might spawn you somewhere else - like in d40), once the BSP switches, and you die, you will be stuck in a grey void until you start a new game, or use devmode.
Co-op will never work in CE, that's the sad fact.
