you need to know your motherboard type, to know what cards will fit.

I have to agree with Ally. The motherboard and slot type play a lot into what video card you will benefit most from. For instance, does your motherboard have hybrid SLI or CrossfireX? What is the actual bandwidth of the slots. (PCI or PCIE) Sometimes in crossfire or SLI, the bandwidth or (pipeline) for using 2 cards slows down the actual; benefit you would usually get from 2 cards.

I currently have an Asus Evo, with true x16 with SLI or Crossfire enabled. Also, I currently only use a Galaxy 9800GT. I have not run into a game yet that lags when playing on highest settings. granted though, the only newer game I have played on High is Black Ops.

FOr anything Halo 2, my setup runs perfectly. The card ran me around $55 I think.

If he only has about $75 hes not going to purchasing a two card setup.

IMO two cards is a waste of power, space and money for the slight increase in performance.
Also, getting many games to utilize two cards is not likely.

So I suggest saving a bit more and getting the best card you can afford. Avoid the low or mid range cards, these are typically labeled like so:

Low - 9150-9400

Mid - 9500-9600

High - 9700-9800

So look on NewEgg or wherever you find a good price range, then take the cards model number and search for it on Google. Then read all the reviews and comparisons to make an informed decision. Keep in mind there will always be better cards in a few months and there will always be daily/weekly deals.

Take your time and do your research or you may regret it.

*I recommend NewEgg because they give most US customers no shipping.
