ok so i get this error when i tr to open up sapien:

volume1\windows\system32\msi.dll
Cannot allocate reqiured memory. Some other application has loaded where Halo needs to be located.

now if i rename msi.dll and sapien starts to open but before it can load msi.dll renames it self. is there anyway to rename it permanently?

Do you know what the dll is used for? If you know and for sure don't want it, you can delete it (but its actually renaming the file you had renamed and not making a new one? that sounds suspicious..)

Or, load a liveCD and try moving it in there, as your windows OS won't be loaded at the time, so it won't notice you playing with the file to revert your actions (because if its reverting itself without input, it doesn't sound like its something you'd want on your computer..) and while in the liveCD you can run virus scans to make sure your computer is safe, etc.

If you don't know what it is, then should you really delete it? for all you know, it could be part of your antivirus, etc.

Anyways, liveCDs are running an entire operating system from a CD/DVD, usually used for testing an OS, or removing viruses and such from a computer. Most liveCD are linux based, although there are a few windows ones (look up winPE or bartPE for windows related liveCDs) all varients of Ubuntu Linux work as both liveCD and installers.

If you just want a small liveCD, get DSL http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/ 50MBs for the disk image.

So how is a lack of windows installation disks preventing you from using a linux liveCD?... I directly gave you a link to a 50MB liveCD. You just download the ISO and burn it to a disk (if you have W7, you have ISO burning software built into the OS)

http://www.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/why-is-it-free
Read that, it will apply to all linux. (and while your there, you can get ubuntu if you'd rather use that for your liveCD. When loading the installer from the disk, you just pick "try ubuntu" instead of install)

You have xfire or something? it would make this easier. my xfire is kirby422
