I've been wanting to model some bipeds, but I want to start with something small, so I decided to start with helmets. I've googled, hce.org searched, and I couldn't find any tutorials. Anybody willing to share a link?

I doubt you will find any. Most types of tutorials focus on techniques of modeling rather than things to model as there are umpteeenbillion things in the world to model. Modeling a helmet I would assume is just imagination as most art is.
*edit*
My best recommendation would just be to learn types of modeling rather than learning to model something in particular. I believe that this may end up leading you to your ultimate goal faster than if you actually found a tutorial because these types of tutorials only show you how to make something that has most likely been made already many times. Try to find inspiration from maybe multiple helmets and if you are going to model something like this I recommend making a sketch, even if it is very rough. I was thinking about making a reach helmet. Jorge's one. I've started, but it's not off to a good start...
