I am currently trying to put all the markers and nodes in to a custom weapon that I have recently modelled. I'm having limited success - this is the first time I've tried this, so bear with me...!
I made a quick and dirty version just using some of the existing nodes from a different weapon, but the markers aren't exporting for some reason - I imagine I have linked them incorrectly. The weapon appears in game, but no sounds or anything (lack of markers for them to play from?)

BUT the part that is frustrating me is trying to link everything to frame gun, frame mag etc.
I understand that you are supposed to use bones for moving parts, but do you need the sphere named 'frame XXX' as well? I Have looked for a few tutorials but most of them were made ages ago and don't really have as much detail is I would like! If anyone could point me to a good tutorial/tell me that I am a newb at skinning, that would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks!

EDIT
Okay, the markers have exported correctly but the sounds still aren't playing... hmm. Reloading and such work fine, just not the firing or eject noise.

Firing sounds are different I believe, they are referenced inside the firing effect tags. Change the sound in the effect to change the firing sound.

I was wondering if the sounds were linked to this because the sounds are tied to the positions of the markers in the model - why they weren't working was beyond me, as the markers were exporting... However, all I did was recompile the model and the sounds started working again. Strange.

Thanks for the suggestions though!

My original question still stands, and that's setting up the model for doing animations. Any good tutorials out there?

Cheers again guys!
