Is there a limit to the number of encounters you can have in a map?

basically this is it. I think recommended max on screen per encounter for halo 1 was something like 16 though. Basically, the max encounters I THINK are due to poly limits though and desire for lag. Things such as vehicles, weapons, and scenery are what kill ya graphically due to the fact that they have many more polies than other things. For example, hogs and other vehicles always seem to lag a little and when you see more in your view or try to shoot someone in one, they lag even more. Basically even poly limits are almost null. It's not so much about poly limits as it is what is being rendered in the current frame that decides how many fps you will render ingame. I can't remember what it was called, but I remember a map on BG that had like 100 grunts you had to fend off that eternally spawned. Pretty ridiculous for lag.

yer theres no limit for the amount of encounters that u can make in sapien. I have an sp with 30-40 encounters

Oh ok, cool... I was just wondering because my firefight is going to have a TON of encounters. Probably somewhere between 80 and 145. (of course not all at once).
